As Ymir knelt, lowering his hand to the ground, Aden stepped off. Twin swords - his Legendary Blades - hung from his back, ready to be drawn at the first sign of danger. Two monster companions - Fleury and Crosby - hopped down Ymir's arm to join him on the wooden planks that was to be their starting point.

Today was a day for adventure.

"You be good, alright?" Aden called back to Ymir, who returned to standing straight, his gigantic form creating a large shadow across the Ship Graveyard. While the Earthmate had explored old ships before, they were individual ships, long buried at the bottom of the ocean. Never in his world had he and Ymir uncovered a place like this - many ships combined into what could essentially be called an artificial island.

Exploring the ocean was one of Aden's favorite pastimes, whether back in his home world, or here in this new one.

"C'mon," he said to his friends before he started to walk. Fleury stuck close to him, curious but wanting to play it safe until he was more familiar with this place. Crosby, with a huff, fluttered ahead, deciding that she was their leader during this little excursion out on the ocean. Aden let her think that - sometimes, the best way to deal with this particular Cluckadoodle was to just let her have her way. She would go for some distance, land on something and cluck loudly until Aden and Fleury caught up to her, then she would continue on.

They kept at it for several more minutes, scrambling over waterlogged wood and bent metal, treading carefully where the makeshift ground seemed unstable. When Aden finally glanced behind him, Ymir was still visible, but the Plant Golem looked a lot smaller than he really was. The trio was heading pretty deep into this area.

This place was cool!

Having been living in the midst of a decrepit city, he'd never seen an actual boat before. The closest he got were half faded pictures and children's toys. Now he was on this mass of broken ships and it's the best playground he could ask for.

There was the little question of just how he got here, but he wasn't going to bother worrying about that yet. Jumping up onto a downed mast, Crow cartwheeled up to the break and looked around. It all seemed desolate just like his home is, and he found it comforting. He sat crosslegged on the mast and felt the ocean breeze against his face

A disturbance in the airflow caught his attention and he stood up, looking into the distance. The doll could see clearly a large plant looking monster at the edge of the artificial island, but it wasn't really moving. In fact, it seemed to be waiting. What for?

A mischievous smile took over Crow's features as he noted movement somewhere nearby. "What have we here?"

Jumping down from the broken mast, he landed directly in front of something that looked like the pictures hed seen of chickens. And here he thought they had all died! Giving a sharp-toothed grin, he straightened, laughing at the clucking noise the animal was making. Chickens sure sounded funny!

It took Crow a moment to realize the chicken wasn't all that was here, there appeared to be a human as well. Cocking his head at the human he presumed to be male, he put his hands on his hips. How was he gonna make friends with him? Was there something he could steal and make him chase him like in Pirate Isle? It seemed to work with Seto. Maybe that silly looking hat.

"What are you lookin' at?"

Crosby's feathers ruffled up, and she started making a clicking noise with her beak that Aden associated with those moments when she found prey and was ready to gouge someone's eyes out. Really, what now? Fleury carefully following after him, Aden stepped around the pile of debris that was blocking his view, and promptly found his Cluckadoodle glaring at some kid.

Huh. Wasn't expecting to find someone else here so quickly.

Crosby didn't like this kid. She didn't like the way he looked, and she certainly didn't like the way he talked. She went from clicking her beak to outright hissing. "Now, Crosby..." Aden warned as he approached. "Don't you thi-"

He was drowned out by the chicken monster's piercing warcry and the space she had occupied just moments ago was suddenly empty save for a few feathers. Aden sprinted after the bird but didn't get there in time to prevent her from slamming right into the kid's face, razor-sharp beak and talons poised to do as much damage as possible.

"CROSBY!" Aden grabbed her and pulled her off, hopefully before she had done any harm. He held the Cluckadoodle at arm's length as she vented her rage on him instead. "Stop that! We do NOT greet people by going for their eyes!" That was not how they made friends! He really didn't know what her problem was half the time. Sometimes he thought she was worse than the Buffazoo they had on the farm!

Taking offense that her assault had been halted, the Cluckadoodle started flapping wildly. Aden felt himself getting yanked into the air. "Hey, what are you-" Crosby flew them over a hole in the mass of ships that they were standing on and dropped in with a squawk, taking her owner with her.

Fleury had watched all of this in silence. Turning to the kid, the sheep monster bowed apologetically to him, then went over to the hole and hopped in as well.

Before Crow could form a response, the chicken began to lunge right at him with talons and it's beak. He blinked in surprise, hopping back to avoid the majority of the attack. All he had to show for it was a scratch on his cheek where Crosby's beak scraped away a thin layer of paint. A blank expression overtook his face as he processed this. The boy was now being pulled into the air by the chicken and was essentially dropped into a hole in the unstable landmass.

The other animal that had been with the boy began to follow after bowing to him, and that left him with all the questions he'd developed. That wasn't supposed to happen that way according to his books. What had he done wrong? Inspecting the hole, he was reminded of when he fell off the merry go round.

Oh! So he wanted to be friends so much that he skipped to the end of the book!

With a wide smile, Crow hopped up onto the broken mast and got a running start, jumping into the hole. "Tally-Ho!" He cried happily, working a glove off his hand and grabbing onto a plank jutting out from another broken floor between the top and bottom. Using the momentum, he swung up and landed on the middle floor. "You okay down there?" He asked, allowing a touch of concern to enter his voice. This was meant to be after a day of chasing each other, but he guessed speeding up the process was okay. Maybe.

He slipped his glove back on to cover the chipped up paint on his hand and leaned over the edge to look for the boy and the chicken.

And now they were... somewhere. A big hole in the island of shipwrecks, with broken planks and anchors and barnacles around them. Crosby had grumpily scampered off to the far corner of the area, leaving Aden to figure out what to do on his own. It wasn't long before Fleury joined him, however, along with the boy from before. Aden looked up at where the kid was perched.

"Uh, yeah. I'm fine." He didn't ask if the kid was okay from that attack, because he could clearly see that he was. Not even bleeding. That confused Aden a little - he had almost thought that he would've ended up with a medical emergency on his hands. But nope.

"Sorry about that," he then added. "She's got a really bad attitude at times." Aden looked at Crosby, who was stabbing her beak into something in the wall. He wasn't going to ask and get pecked to death. She was different than the Cluckadoodle he had back in his world... that one actually behaved most of the time.

Crow gave a little tilt of his head, but smiled, "It'll take more than an angry bird to hurt me. We had those all over back where I'm from." Well, and angry everything but cats. The thought entity things were moody too. Cats were pretty cool though, and crows seemed to like him.

Straightening, Crow looked about the floor he was on, for all he knew this human couldn't get out on his own. Thankfully there seemed to be a lot of rope just lying around, most appearing to be netting from the mast. This worked out well enough for him because it was already long enough to reach the bottom of the pit. Dragging the free end over to the edge of the hole, Crow dropped it down for him if he needed it. He figured there was a way up from this floor somewhere.

They could always look around too if they were bored. Crow honestly still had no idea where he was, but he didn't particularly care save the fact he'd prefer being with Seto. With the ropes dropped there wasn't much he could do but wait, so he sat at the top, cross legged and more than a little pensive. After all this guy looked a lot different than anyone from where he was from, and he had yet to see a single thought entity here.

What was going on?

"By the way, I just kinda ended up here. What is this place?"

"At least she's just a Cluckadoodle. I've known worse." Larger birds capable of snatching humans up and flying away with them. Crosby's size kept her from doing anything too extreme, although that didn't keep her from trying.

The kid threw down some netting, so Aden used it to climb back up, muttering a thanks as he reached the top. It hadn't been necessary - he would've figured out a way out eventually - but he still appreciated it. Fleury used it to climb back up as well, but Crosby flew up on her own, clucking grumpily. She fluttered off some distance away and sat on some debris, feathers fluffed out.

She seemed to be ignoring them. Aden ignored her in return for the time being. She needed time to cool down. The Earthmate sat where he was, legs dangling over the edge of the hole. Having nothing else to do, Fleury just sat between him and the kid.

"We're in the Ship Graveyard," Aden answered. "Any ships that get destroyed end up here, if they don't just sink outright." He could still explore those sunken ships whenever he found them - Ymir could lift the entire wreck over his head, just like back in their world. "Unless you mean this planet we're on. That's more complicated. Sort of."

A graveyard for ships? What a strange concept, though he could see how it got that name- look at all this junk! All these ships smashed together and collectively unseaworthy.. Well it made a great playground. So many things to climb on and jump off. Though It might not be safe for a human. "We're on a different planet?" Crow decided to ask instead. "Well that explains you and the animals! Everyone is dead where I'm from." Granted he was probably way too enthusiastic about that, but it was just a fact of life there.

"It looks like a chicken to me!" Crow hummed, looking at Crosby after processing what Aden called her. The thing about being on a different planet had distracted him a bit to much to acknowledge that right away. He wasn't actually sure what exactly a Cluckadoodle was compared to a chicken, but since the guy had said that this was a different world, maybe that meant he was from somewhere else too? "Is a Cluckawhatsit what you call chickens where you're from?"

Full of energy from the recent revelation Crow hopped to his feet and looked around, "Did I introduce myself yet? Crow's the name! C-R-O-W."

Everyone's dead where he was from? Wow, that's... something. Aden couldn't imagine what that was like. He was from a world filled with people of different races, as well as monsters. Maybe Fenith Island wasn't the busiest of places, but it was still pretty lively, seeing who lived there.

"She's a chicken monster. The world I'm from has all kinds of monsters." Aden hadn't really met any of those normal animals until he came here. Normal sheep and cows looked pretty strange to him. "Anyway, nice to meet you, Crow! I'm Aden. A-D-E-N." He didn't really know why he was spelling his name out too, but oh well.

"This is Fleury," he then added, pointing at the monster sitting beside him. "You've already met Crosby... and I got Ymir with me, too. He's way too big to be traveling around the Graveyard, though."

The silly creatures had silly names, too, that was fitting, though Crow found that he honestly liked the human's name. He hadn't heard a lot of them before. He really only knew two. Not counting Aden, and those were Seto and Chiyo. Even then Chiyo was a ghost, so he wasn't sure if she counted as human or not.

But that was besides the point. Apparently Aden's world had monsters, the chicken was a monster and was mean, "Yeah, she gave me a heck of a scratch." He lifted a hand to feel the spot. It felt like she left a bit of an indent where she scraped the paint off, too. That was going to be annoying to fix! He can't just take off his face! Well maybe, but he didnt want to.

Looking at the fluffy one apparently named Fleury, Crow smiled, "Is that one nice?" It was so fluffy, he felt the need to pet it, and since it had yet to try killing him to no avail, he figured it was fine to do so. Holding a hand to the sheep monster, Crow crouched down, a look of childish excitement and baseless confidence on his face. He'd always been rather rash.

At least it was just a scratch. Crosby could do a lot more damage, and Aden had been concerned that she did. He knew just what kind of injuries her and her kind could inflict, mostly because he was often on the receiving end of their attacks. Wild monsters were quite happy to attack people if they intruded on what they perceived as their space. Since monsters occupied much of the uncivilized areas of Aden's world, that meant that there were a lot of them around.

Aden glanced back at Crosby. She was now glaring at... something in the distance. He didn't know what - he couldn't see it. It might even be just a piece of wood from one of the ships that offended her in some way.

"Yeah, he's pretty nice." And a lot tamer in comparison. Fleury perked up, approached Crow with a hop, then reached out, grasping his hand with both of his soft paws. Aden smiled. Unless he was in trouble, Fleury wouldn't hurt a fly. That didn't mean he was defenseless, though - far from it. He was a lot stronger than his cousin, Wilson.

Crow smiled wider as Fleury took his hand. This one was nicer, and cuter, so that was a win in his book. "The place I'm from, the only live things I saw were cats and birds." He paused thinking over his travels back on his world. While he processed what he wanted to say, he freed his hand and gently petted the wooly creature, "There were a lot of these things called Thought Entities around, though... And there were ghosts."

Ghosts always confused him. They were like thought entities that retained their sense of self instead of becoming violent and impossible to reason with. "Thought Entities are mean, but Ghosts are cool... there's not a lot of them. Even the robots were falling into disrepair," Not that all of them were capable of holding a conversation, but it definitely made for a lonely life. He liked the thought of more friends and people to talk to, but being alone all his life made him wary.

"Monsters sound fun if they're like this, though!" Crow chimed, making sure to ruffle the fluff on Fleury's head. He definitely liked this one. "I wonder if any can talk? I read books with talking animals before!"

Cats, birds, some kind of entity and ghosts. Aden thought Crow's world sounded a little... well, empty. Had it always been like that, or did something happened to the world along the way? He had read in a few books here that some worlds were like that. Kind of sad.

Crow mentioned robots, too. Those things were kind of like golems - the smaller ones, at least. Ymir was kind of unique.

Fleury was enjoying the attention, making a delighted sound as Crow ruffled the wool on his head. "Some monsters can talk," Aden replied, standing up and brushing some dirt off his coat and pants. "I met a goblin before - he's the captain of a pirate crew made up of other goblins. He can talk." Aden had to wonder where that guy was now. Still getting into trouble?

"Maybe a tamed monster can be taught to talk like people. Never tried it before." Aden could understand his monsters perfectly even if their languages were different than his. It was just a talent he had as an Earthmate.

"It would be cool. Are there other people in this place though?" They had established pretty well that neither of them were from "here" and that "here" was some grave for ships, but other than Aden he hadn't met anyone on this place. The whole area was surrounded by water, and he didn't want to sink into the ocean. Maybe there were no other landmasses? It could be, but if so this was a really tiny place.

He wasn't completely certain he was water proof to begin with. Rain was one thing, but swimming was something different entirely. All he was certain of is that he was definitely not swimming. Crow figured if there were ships, they had to come from somewhere, so there also had to be land, right. The conflicting questions and what appeared to be hurt his processor, so he disregarded it for now. He had other questions, anyway.

"So uh, why's she glaring at nothing? Is that a Cluckadoodle thing?" He asked, "And why'd you come? Just lookin' around?"

"There's a lot of people here... well, not here. Out across the ocean." There were a few islands, as well as two whole continents filled with all kinds of people. And from what Aden had heard, there were a lot more people living up in some big city floating high above the planet. He had to wonder what that place was like.

His eyes landed on Crosby again, who was staring at whatever she happened to be staring at. "It's less of a Cluckadoodle thing and more of a Crosby thing. I think she's just found something to glare at." At least she was sitting still and not fluttering off to attack it this time.

"Anyway... yeah, we just came here to explore. Places like this always interested me." Shipwrecks had stories to tell. Also, who knew what kind of monsters, treasure or even fellow explorers could be around here. They already found someone; despite Crosby's attempt to rip his face off, the trip was off to a good start. Right?
