Suicune stepped off the surface of the water and onto what was hopefully solid enough ground, taking her passengers with her.

Lucina surveyed the area around them. There was nothing but shipwrecks in sight, although she knew very well what kind of danger lurked in a place where once proud vessels were left to rot. Maybe the Ship Graveyard was from a world that didn't have monsters; she wasn't sure. But they've certainly made themselves at home here now that it was a part of this world.

With Vivillon still clinging to her shoulder, Lucina climbed off of Suicune's back. Right now, the three of them were doing some extra scouting work for the Network, which suited her just fine. She couldn't simply stay at Arena Ferox every single day, fighting challengers; she wanted to be out here, doing her part to help.

She also needed to track down Morgan - she hadn't seen her friend in a while and would like to see how he was doing, and if he had made any progress in getting his memories back. Lucina doubted she would find him here, though. There were many other places on the planet he would probably go to before winding up here, although if he was curious enough...

Lucina proceeded to head deeper into the Ship Graveyard, her hand resting on Falchion's hilt and her steps careful. Suicune followed her; so far, the group was only greeted by the sound of crashing waves and creaking ships.

Black

Black broke through the surface, his hair sticking to his head from the water as he did so. He wasn't wearing his cap like he normally was. In fact, he wasn't wearing any of the clothes he normally wore. Instead, he was wearing scuba gear because he was kind of sort of scuba diving.

If one could call mostly sitting on Jellicent's head as scuba diving. Jellicent had wanted them to go swimming in the ocean together, and this was the easiest way for Black to accomplish just that. Besides, the ocean was kind of dangerous. Jellicent would be able to float out and keep him safely out of harm's way much more easier if Black was riding on his head.

Black pulled his mouthpiece out; he wasn't able to talk with it in, obviously.

"We're at the ship graveyard," he announced. Jellicent moved up so his head was poking out of the water as well. Black gave the top of his head a gentle pat. "Let's go take a break for a bit, okay?"

Jellicent lifted completely out of the water and went to the nearest ship. Black slipped off of his head and stepped down, trying to not be too awkward on his flippers. Jellicent sat down on the surface of the boat, stretching his legs out as if he was trying to dry them off in the sun.

Lucina heard noises nearby and realized that she and her friends weren't alone here.

"What was that...?" she murmured. Letting go of her shoulder, Vivillon made an uncertain noise and fluttered a bit higher, but Suicune gently nudged the royal's back with her head. It was her way of telling her that it was safe to check it out and that she should do so. Lucina heeded her advice and made her way over to the boat. Debris jutted out from the ground, allowing her to use it to step up and climb up to the deck.

Her fingers gripped the edge of the side and Lucina pulled herself up, high enough to see... "Black?"

And Jellicent, who looked absolutely adorable sitting there. A shadow flew over Lucina's head and Suicune landed gracefully on the deck, Vivillon hanging onto the very end of her mane.

Jelllicent gave each of his tentacles a shake, like he was working out cramps. Black watched him, amused. Was it possible for Jellicent to get cramps, considering just how his build was? Black was pretty sure it wasn't. Didn't you need, like, muscles and bones for that? Jellicent probably didn't have either. Besides, he was also partially a ghost. Black thought that might have made such things implausible, but he wasn't a complete expert on that either.

Either way, he thought it was simply cute the way Jellicent always acted. He would go out on a limb and say that Jellicent was the most adorable member of his regular team. Lampent preferred messing around and not being see, and Swoobat was too contrary, and the others... well...

His thoughts were broken when he heard someone approach. Jellicent hadn't alerted him to anyone coming around, which he normally did when there was danger. But, he seemed to thinking the approaching person wasn't dangerous. Black immediately knew why when he saw them.

"Lucina!" he exclaimed, surprised. With Suicune and Vivillon too! He wasn't expecting to see them here. It was a pleasant surprise. "I didn't know you guys were out this way."

"And I wasn't aware you were out here, also," Lucina replied, climbing up over the edge and landing on the deck. She wasn't expecting to meet anyone out here, especially not someone else from the Network. It looked like Black was out doing some exploring, judging by what he was wearing. Lucina didn't understand all the details, but... that was what people used to breathe and swim underwater, wasn't it? It was called... what was it...

Scuba. What a strange word, yet it was fun to pronounce.

"We were simply doing a little extra scouting," she added, glancing at her Pokemon friends. Vivillon let go of Suicune's mane, fluttered over to Jellicent and inspected him. Deciding that he was okay and not doing anything spooky, she perched on the top of his head. Suicune silently went over to Black instead, circling so she was behind him. Using one of her ribbon-like tails, she then readjusted his air tank slightly, so it would fit better.

Black didn't think there was anything nicer than being able to run into friends when you didn't expect to see them. It was kind of like life giving you a sweet little present as there could be no better present than being able to hang out with your friends, even if you didn't make any plans. In this world, Black had a lot more of these moments than he did back home. It was kind of cool.

Jellicent didn't move at all when Vivillon sat on him. In fact, he went perfectly still, almost like a statue. And this was perfectly normal, at least for him.

"Oh, that's cool," Black said. "This is definitely a place that needs some extra scouting." Black didn't add it was because the landscape changed so frequently. New ships from all sorts of worlds came into this place all the time - whether because the ships were just dropped off here or because the people who were navigating them crashed them here - , and it was normal for ships to eventually drift off or even get destroyed.

"Jellicent and I were just exploring," he said. "Jellicent wanted us to go swimming together."

"I see." Lucina could imagine it, Black riding Jellicent through the deep blue of the ocean, exploring the Ship Graveyard from underneath the water's surface. It could be dangerous - the less stable ships could break off or even break apart at any time, and various creatures now called the area home - but she knew Black was safe as long as he had his Pokemon with him.

"Have you seen anything interesting in the water?" she then inquired. Lucina wasn't entirely sure what was there to see underwater, for the concept was still a little foreign to her. But if she had to guess, Black and Jellicent probably saw fish and other aquatic life, as well as parts of shipwrecks that someone simply exploring the surface wouldn't be able to see.

Maybe they even found some sunken treasure! The stories Lucina read about shipwrecks often had hidden chests waiting to be discovered.

Black had to wonder if Lucina ever got to see what was below the surface. She wasn't from a world where underwater exploration was really a thing, unlike himself. In his own world, there were things like submarines that would take you down so you could see what was going on down there. Lucina was from what was kind of like a medieval world from Black's perspective. They weren't likely to have something that could take them down there.

"We saw a lot of cool things," Black said, earnestly. "Not a lot of Pokemon, which is what I'm used to when scuba diving, but there were all sorts of weird fish down there. We didn't really see anything too dangerous, but we didn't go too far deep."

Black wanted to see everything there was to see, but he also knew better than to go that far down. Jellicent was strong, but there were some wicked strong creatures out here; he wasn't sure if he would be able to contend against them if they attacked them.

"I was hoping for some treasure, but we haven't had any luck with that yet."

It was a shame; treasure would have been cool.

Going too far deep down did sound dangerous. Nobody knew just what was lurking down in the depths of the ocean. There were so many different kinds of creatures living here from so many different worlds... anything that was fit to survive down there could be living there, right now.

Even so, there might still be a way to find out what was lurking down there, one day...

"If you're searching for treasure, then perhaps there's some hidden within these wrecked ships?" Lucina mused. She was suggesting that they go have a look. She needed to scout the area, anyway. There wasn't any reason why she couldn't do her work while she was off on a treasure hunt with her friends. As long as Black was okay with moving around in scuba gear, but she was certain that Jellicent would happily carry him around if he needed to.

Vivillon agreed with the idea, happily hopping up into the air and chirping. Even Suicune perked up, curious to see what the Ship Graveyard had in store for them, as long as everyone was safe while they ventured forth.

Search for treasure inside of the ships inside of under the waves? Now, there was a thought. Black knew that with ships disappearing and constantly joining the graveyard, there was always new treasure to be had. He wasn't even sure just how many worlds the Goddess was even trying to pull people from, so he didn't know just how many types of ships were coming and just how many.

It was kind of a sad thing to think about. Black knew it was possible that there had been people who had died for there to be treasure waiting somewhere for him. He hoped that any of the ships they came across either had their crews rescued or had long been abandoned. It would mean they weren't stealing from someone. Black wasn't a big fan of taking things that weren't his.

Unless he was borrowing from someone's room, like Ninten or Lloyd. He sometimes swiped their comic books to read. They were pretty good comic books. Ninten and Lloyd had good tastes when it came down to it.

"That would be cool," Black agreed. "I don't have shoes though so I'm going to need a ride." He didn't want to get splinters in his feet, and who knew what else was on the ground here. He would have to ride on Jellicent.

As if knowing this, Jellicent came over. Black easily climbed back onto his head. "Lead the way, Lucina."

So now they were going on a treasure hunt. It wasn't what Lucina had been planning when she initially traveled here, but she had suggested the idea. It could be fun. Even if they didn't find any treasure, there still might be something of interest that they could bring back to the Axolotl. The Network was always gathering information about this world, and even things that might seem insignificant could be important in the long run.

When Black told her to lead the way, Lucina nodded and went back to the edge of the ship, vaulting over it and landing on some debris lower down. She made her way down, following the path she had taken to get up to the ship earlier. Vivillon flew after her, and Suicune gave Jellicent a playful nudge with her head before she leaped over the side, landing at the bottom.

Lucina scanned the area around them. Where should they look first? She decided on a ship that looked like it came from a world like hers. "Let's head over there," she said before walking that way, navigating around some obstacles that were in her path.

When she got closer, she noticed that most of the smaller boats that the ship was carrying were missing; the only ones that remained were damaged. Hopefully, that meant that its crew had made it out safely.

Jellicent remained motionless, even as Black gave him a little nudge. Once Suicune gave him a nudge, though, he started moving, floating rather quickly after Lucina, covering the distance between them in a matter of seconds.

"Whoooa," Black said, just before Jellicent bumped into her. The ghost slowed to a stop before moving at a much closer to snail's pace. Black couldn't hep but laugh at his Pokemon's reactions. More so than any of Black's Pokemon, Jellicent was eccentric. It was one of the things that Black really loved about him. He was so unusual, and he just embraced it about himself. Sometimes, he didn't even seem to notice.

The ship they were on now looked old - older than Black was used to, anyways. It might have been able to pass as a fit to Lucina's world. Was that rude of him to think something like that? He just knew that Lucina's world matched what would have been considered medieval in his own world, and that was what this ship reminded him of.

"It's kind of like a pirate ship," Black piped. Which was good, because pirates usually had treasure. If he hadn't already been plundered. "Do you think we should look inside?" The deck didn't seem like there was much to offer them.

It did look like a pirate ship. "It seems like the crew had evacuated some time ago," Lucina commented. "If they had treasure, then it's possible that they weren't able to take it all with them." Which meant that there still might be treasure on board. Would the crew come back for it?

It depended on their feelings about the Ship Graveyard, and how they got here in the first place. Even if they were pirates, some people might be reluctant to return to where their ship had been destroyed, especially if they had encountered hostile creatures in the process. "I highly doubt that the crew will return while we're present." Lucina sent a slight smile Black's way. "Shall we?"

She went to the door leading into the interior and opened it - carefully, since it looked like it would fall apart if she treated it unkindly. She was greeted by a large hole in the floor. Lucina scrutinized the floorboards, only jumping across when she was sure that they were sturdy. "Please watch your step," she said, mostly for Suicune's sake - Vivillon and Jellicent need not worry about falling.

So, maybe the pirates who were here had plans to go back for their treasure. Or, maybe - just maybe because Black had watched way too many pirate related movies back home before he had gotten here - the pirates in question would be super superstitious and believe that the place was haunted (they weren't exactly wrong on that when it came down to certain boats - and had no plans on ever returning. After all, you could rebuild a treasure stash, but you couldn't rebuild your life.

"I think we'll be okay," Black agreed.

With that assessment in mind, it was time for them to go exploring!

Jellicent floated into the boat's interior after Lucina. He was carefully to lift his tentacles clear of the hole that Lucina had pointed out, as if there was some sort of possibility that he was capable of falling into it. Which, of course, he wasn't. The action still made him look dainty, which made Black giggle.

"We might need some light in here," Black said. It was pretty dark and dank, though he was still capable of technically seeing. He still thought it would be a good idea to have some light for them to see by, otherwise it might have been possible for them to miss something important!

Vivillon fluttered after them, while Suicune carefully jumped over the hole, her paws only making the lightest sound on the floorboards as she landed. Black pointed out that they needed light and Lucina agreed. It was dark in here, and they needed to watch where they were going. The next hole in the floor might not be as visible as the first, and it was possible that they might encounter something hostile living within the shipwreck.

"I do have something that could help..." Lucina pulled out a flashlight, made sure to point it away from her and her friends - she had already learned that lesson - and turned it on. The bright beam shone further into the ship, driving away the shadows. "That looks better."

Lucina had mostly gotten the hang of using kitchen appliances - thanks to Wes' help, although there still had been... accidents - so now she was focusing on trying other things. And the flashlight was one of the most useful pieces of technology she had came across, even more important than any of the fancy devices she had to learn how to use in order to keep in contact with the Network while she was out. With this, she could explore dark areas without worrying about a candle going out. All she needed to do was make sure the batteries weren't dead!

...and that she didn't do anything to cause it to stop working. Wes had given her a flashlight that was waterproof and shock-resistant and could withstand being thrown against a wall by Espeon and his telekinesis. It was designed to be quite durable, and Lucina hoped that it would continue to be even in her hands.
