Wasn't this a nice little change of pace? Admittedly the demigod hadn't been expecting to be recognized as a spirit by the workers of the bathhouse, but really, he was almost glad they had. He could use a distraction from his recent thoughts of how the other's were doing. It always caught him off guard when he found himself missing people from Shibuya. The last thing he wanted to think about was how the city was doing without him in the UG looking after it. Three weeks had left it in shambles, and here it was, four months away from his post. Being MIA is completely unheard of, so he can't imagine the disarray of his city and his friends right about now, if they were even alive.

A chill shot down his spine despite it being rather warm in the bathhouse, but he said nothing. His problems were his own and he would rather not tell anyone about it. Especially not Rhyme. He followed the frog spirit for a moment before slipping away from view. There were many different spirits here , but there was the odd group of humans here and there. He found it fascinating since it had been years upon years since he'd been in a bathhouse.

Squeezing past one of the lager patrons, he slid open the door leading out onto the walkway and sat down, looking up at the night sky. He wasn't much of a fan of getting wet, but he may go back in after a bit... Once he'd gotten tired of the quiet atmosphere outside. For now he was content to gaze at the sky.

Footsteps behind him alerted him to the fact that he wasn't as alone as he thought, and the boy gave a quiet hum of lightly veiled amusement, "Well well, who might you be?"

Dovahkiin
© Jessica // CURRENTLY Offline

There were no bathhouses in Skyrim. If one needed to bathe, they either had to have one already in their home - normally reserved for the rich - or they had to do so in a natural body of water. Skyrim, as a whole, was never the cleanest province. Nords didn't care too much for bathing if they were busy in the wild. It was the Imperials who, he found anyways, to be the most likely to nag someone about their personal hygiene.

Even being here reeked of cleanliness to Dovahkiin, and he wasn't sure he liked how it smelled. His nose was more sensitive than the regular human's. He was a werewolf as well, and that had helped to enhance a variety of his senses, his sense of smell being the one he utilized the most when he was not in his wolf form. There was something about the smell of soap and shampoos that filled the bathhouse that he didn't like. He much preferred the scents of the outdoors.

But, he was here anyways, as it was normal for him to explore every place he could. He had not been expecting the attendants here to strip him and force him into a bath because they thought he reeked, but that was exactly what had happened. He had complained - and loudly - but eventually he had consented. They had offered to polish and look after his armor and weapons, which was something that was more appealing to him than a bath itself, and so he now found himself wandering the hallways of the bathhouse wearing nothing but a towel. Some people stared at him, but he assumed it was for the massive amount of scars that littered his body and not because of his stench.

Right now, he smelled just as nice and clean as everyone else here. He was going to have to roll around in the Deep Roads for some time to get rid of it.

Dovahkiin made his way to an outdoor walkway, as being inside with some many people was suffocating for him. But, when he stepped outside, it was already occupied.

"Dovahkiin," he said immediately in response to the question. It wasn't a brag when he called himself the dragonborn like that. It was what he was, and he was so used to the people of Skyrim forgetting his real name that he simply address himself as his title instead. If he wanted to brag, he would have attached all the other needless titles to it.

He stepped outside onto the walkway itself and went to lean against the building's wall. It was nicer out here without the hot air instead the bathhouse pressing down on him.

The Warrior of Light
© Draco // CURRENTLY Offline

In the realm that the Warrior of Light had originated from, there had been baths in nearly every single inn that he had visited on his journey. He’d even had one in the estate that he had lived in once upon a time, in a time where he had gone by his own name. But that was then, and this was now. All the adventuring he had done and was doing impaired his ability to bathe regularly.

As was such, when he had stumbled into Konoha and found his way to the bathhouse, he had been ushered in at the insistence of a few of the workers. It took a lot of coaxing for him to even have the armour removed or his helmet. He was attached to his armour and didn’t want just anyone touching it. In the end, he was left with a simple white robe and a bath towel, wandering the bathhouse.

Walking through the bathhouse, the Warrior of Light listened to the people that were working about or enjoying the services. Apparently, this bathhouse originally served the spiritual world. If he had to be honest, the Warrior couldn’t say that he believed in such spiritual beliefs before now.

He had found a door leading to the outside patio, and moved to step outside. Just as he had, he heard a voice calling out, and another responding. Turned out, he hadn’t stepped out to peace and quiet, but instead in the middle of a conversation just to his right. A tall, thick man and a small teenager, in fact. The Warrior stiffened, not entirely sure if they wanted him involved.

The demigod nearly commented on the strange nature of Dovahkiin's name before remembering that there were those here from worlds vastly different than his own. The large, buff man didn't seem to be the most approachable. The amount of scars he was covered in spoke of difficult battles, and a possible difficult life on top of that, but conjecture was pointless when you don't have enough to base it on in the first place. Joshua simply found entertainment in guessing and comparing first impressions to reality later on.

And then another variable entered the fold. Joshua looked up as another large man joined them on the walkway, this one with silvery hair and piercing eyes. On top of that, he was giant. At least a foot taller than Joshua, and the Composer wasn't completely sure why he found that to be unsettling. Perhaps it was because most of the men in his little corner of Tokyo didn't get that tall, but tall people had never bothered him before. Joshua pushed those thoughts aside so that he could address the man, "Why so stiff? I don't bite." He couldn't promise about Dovahkiin, however.

Speaking of, he hadn't introduced himself yet, had he? "Nice to meet you both. My name is Yoshiya Kiryu." Accompanying the introduction was his signature condescending smile, though it was a touch softer than it normally was. New people intrigued him, so he would try to be nice.

Dovahkiin
© Jessica // CURRENTLY Offline

The boy looked small to Dovahkiin, but that was probably because he himself was fairly tall and he came from a place where the mer lived, and they were known for growing to heights that were uncommon for humans like himself, though Nords were typically taller than most other human races in Tamriel. He didn't look like he would fit much into Tamriel, as he was pale like a Nord would be, but he still didn't have the look to him. Dovahkiin didn't question it, though. In Skyrim, one was used to warriors and hardened people because of the cold and unforgiving landscape there. It was something people grew in to, whether they wanted to or not. He knew it was not the same here. For all he knew, this boy could smite him in one blow.

Dovahkiin wasn't much of a conversationalist, but he didn't find any form of silence between them awkward, either. He was used to crowds where people were more likely to leave him alone. But, they weren't alone for long as another joined them.

This one had a look of a warrior about him, but Dovahkiin decided it was from a decidedly different world than his own. That was a thing that always interested him - seeing how different people who were both classified as fighters were when they were raised in very different places. He wondered if this one had demon gods breathing down his neck, probably debating over who got to have his soul.

It was most likely going to be Akatosh, though Dovahkiin would have loved to see any agreement Hircine would come up with. He was rather fond of the Daedric Prince.

"It's a pleasure as well, Yoshiya" Dovahkiin said in return, even if it didn't sound like him. He wasn't the person who had a way with words. He left that to the nobility and their political games. He was the sword. He repeated the boy's name to make sure he said it correctly. The mispronunciation of a name seemed like a silly thing to get annoyed over, but he felt it was respect to not do something like that.

He glanced at the other warrior, wondering what his response would be. Yoshiya had said he didn't bite, but that wasn't so true with the Dovahkiin. He was a werewolf, after all. He did eat people before. He just wasn't planning on it right now.

The boy’s name was Yoshiya, the man’s, he was unsure. The Warrior of Light stepped up closer, since apparently, now he was part of the conversation. He didn’t feel all that comfortable – but he was lacking shield and blade, armour and helmet. He didn’t feel at home with himself anymore, especially in such a foreign place.

“Well met,” he stated to both the boy and the man. From what he could tell of both, the boy was seemingly average in appearance, but the man was thick and covered in scars. It was likely that he was a warrior, just as he was himself. “I am the Warrior of Light.”

The Warrior bowed in greeting to both of them, putting a hand to his chest. He probably seemed like such an old sight at the moment – he disliked white towels, as they tended to make him seem paler than usual, and his hair was practically the same colour of the cloth. Unfortunately, this appearance will have to do for now. At least until he had his armour.

“I apologize for the intrusion. I seem to have interrupted the two of you,” he continued, offering at least some kind of manners regarding his walking in on them.

Joshua gave a dismissive wave, "You weren't interrupting anything." He had only just met Dovahkiin so this would be more of a double meeting considering the time between their arrivals being so slim. The only other thing had been his brooding, and Joshua could live with brooding less over things that no longer concerned him. After all, he technically got what he wanted- a fresh start, but this wasn't what he had in mind. He imagined he was luckier than most. He knew Rhyme specifically had been ripped from her home. Rock had as well. Both had families where they were from, unlike him, so it must be much more difficult for those like them with something to lose. Joshua looked back up at the sky and smiled, "I was just admiring the stars, myself. It's a nice night."

The demigod took a moment to take in the sight before giving the other two his attention once more, "So... Warrior of Light is quite the fancy title. Is there a reason behind why you give a title in place of your name?" He was mostly curious for the most part it didn't bother him not knowing his name, but the full title was a bit cumbersome. Joshua had never met someone who introduced themself with just a title before. He himself only ever did so when it was socially appropriate, and generally his name either preceded or followed it.

Speaking of his name, he had heard Dovahkiin repeat his name to practice the pronunciation. Joshua wasn't picky on the matter and simply flashed him a smile, "My friends call me Joshua or Josh if that's any easier," He offered. Usually he didn't give people permission to use his nickname until later, but he could make an exception. His given name could be a bit of a mouthful.

Dovahkiin

"Joshua it is," he said with a nod of his head. That was easier for him to say. He was not a man who was good with words. He came from a place where his blade spoke for him on most occasions. Having a name he could call someone that he wouldn't be tripping his tongue over all the time was preferred.

The Warrior of Light. That sounded like a title to Dovahkiin, though he wasn't too surprised. He himself went by a title. He may have been born to be a Dovahkiin, but it was not his birth name. That name was something that seemed almost like a lost art form these days, as he was rarely addressed by it. Most people in Skyrim addressed him by Dovahkiin, or Harbinger, if they were a member of the Companions like he was. By the time he had landed in this world, he had grown used to introducing himself as such.

He, too, was curious as to where the title had come from. His was obvious - he was dragonborn and that was what Dovahkiin meant in their tongue. But Warrior of Light seemed like it came with an interesting tale.

Dovahkiin shifted positions though he didn't move away from the wall on which he was leaning. He wanted to be able to see them both, if they were conversing now.

Joshua, as he apparently wanted to be called, explained the situation. The clarification made it easier for the Warrior of Light to forgive his apparent breaking in to the conversation. With that passed, the boy commented on his title, and then asked the inevitable. Why give it, instead of his name?

The question caused the Warrior of Light to pause. He had not been referred to by his own name in a long time, in fact, he would have to say since before his inevitable journey. So far, he’d have at least one person comment on the oddity of not giving his real name. It resulted in a strange nickname that he wasn’t entirely too fond of. All the same, it was something that he was proud of.

“Yes. When I had been chosen as one of the four Heroes of Light… it was an honour, one I intend to keep true of,” he explained. “I shed my name when I was appointed it.” He nodded once he had finished, hoping that it was enough to appease both of his companions. “I imagine it is a mouthful. I respond to that, and just Warrior if that makes it any easier on you.”

He fiddled for a moment with the robe that he wore, fixing the sleeves. He missed his armour, and the clothing that he wore underneath it. However, it was probably best that he get it washed. He was proud of the armour and it wouldn’t do it any good to wear it all the time.

Heroes of Light, huh? That meant there was more than just him. He even referred to them as his friends. Joshua gave a little hum and looked back up to the stars, "Warrior... hm. It seems too general. How does the nickname Nocturne sound?" The demigod could think of several ways it applied to the man, and as a name it was as uncommon as they come. No one would be mistaking it for theirs, at least.

"I have a title as well, but it doesn't really let on a lot about what it is I do." He admitted off handedly, then looked over at Dovahkiin, "Your name sounds interesting... Dovahkiin." Joshua said, trying it out, though he likely got the pronunciation wrong. "What does it mean?"

Joshua was very aware that niether of the two were likely from worlds that mildly resembled his own, however, he'd been planning on getting a more permanent residence somewhere and making a point to learn all that this world had to offer on the parts that made it up. Making a new life here would make up for the one he didn't get to live before.

Heroes of Light. There was a very interesting tale to tell there somewhere, though Dovahkiin doubted they were going to get a full story any time soon. He knew it was the sort of story that probably required a few hours to speak of, maybe with a meal in there somewhere to keep all parties involved filled as they listened. He knew what that was like; his own tale was like that. Tales perhaps was the better word. Skyrim had been very active since he discovered he was Dragonborn.

Joshua stated he had a title of his own, though he didn't share it. Dovahkiin didn't question what the title was supposed to be. There were so many different sorts of worlds in this place. There was a high chance that he wouldn't even know what Joshua's title meant even if he did know it. It was better to leave some things uncomplicated.

"Dovahkiin is the Dov word for Dragonborn," he said, turning his gaze to Joshua to answer. "It means I am Dov Sos, or dragonblooded. It's what the dragons of my world call people who were born with a dragon soul." Which was what he was. One could say that status caused him quite a bit of trouble, but he didn't think stopping Alduin's quest to destroy humanity as troublesome. "That also means I'm able to perform certain abilities that a human cannot do otherwise." Absorbing the knowledge of the Thu'um was one. Others, like the Greybeards and Ulfric Stormcloak, had to go through much effort to learn the Thu'um. To Dovahkiin, it came naturally.

“Nocturne?” The Warrior blinked at Joshua’s sudden words, tilting his head. Another nickname. That would be the second one he had gained since arriving in this world. “… I suppose, if you’re suggesting my title is too… general.” He had to wonder what the boy’s own title was, but it seemed that he was adamant about keeping it quiet.

Allowing it to pass, he quieted down, allowing Dovahkiin to speak his own piece. The suggestion of being Dragonborn was a rather curious one. There were many worlds and many different types of traditions, and kinds of people. The Warrior had heard of the dov, had even fought one alongside Sami. So, this was a man that had originated from that same world.

“And what kind of abilities would those be? I’ve seen the dov, they are quite powerful and harrowing beings,” the Warrior stated, folding his arms as he thought it all over. Harrowing though they may be… “I felled one alongside another soldier of this world.”

It looked to him like they had both given him titles as opposed to names. Frustrating though it was for the demigod, he supposed that he was the only one of the three bothered by it. They didn't seem to find it nearly as impersonal as he did. Still, everything considered, he was intrigued by the glimpses into other worlds that he was getting

The demigod gave a small chuckle, "Well it seems as though I should have introduced myself as the Composer, seeing as you both gave titles." With a snap of his fingers, a ripple of power released from the boy, and his wings revealed themselves, "And while I do create music, it actually means that I preside over life and death in a specified area." That was a very broad way of putting it, but no less true. They didn't need to know about his game, only what his title meant.

Truthfully he had seen some of the Dov flying about, but hadn't given them any mind. So long as they didn't bother him, he didn't care what they did. Hearing the Warrior's descripition, he almost wished he'd decided to engage one for fun.

Dovahkiin
© Jessica // CURRENTLY Offline

Dovahkiin had heard of composers before - the bards at the College in Solitude liked throwing it around - but he assumed this was not the same kind of composer that Joshua was talking about. Even if he had music, he wondered how similar it would be to the bards he knew, playing their flutes and beating on their drums while arguing over musical theory and history. If he went there, he often got his ear talked off. It was why he avoided the building when he could.

But, the boy also had wings. Dovahkiin didn't show surprise when they appeared, having seen a multitude of odd and weird things in his lifetime. Wings could never beat out Hermaeus Mora showing himself for the first time. He did give a small grunt of approval though. Wings were useful and practical. Fight a guy with a sword? Didn't matter if one couldn't reach you. He left the life and death thing alone in his mind, though. He had been to more than one place where a soul could go to die - the Soul Cairn and Sovngarde. If Joshua had been to somewhere like it, even been in charge of such a place if he was understanding correctly, Dovahkiin wasn't going to question it.

They were curious about the dov and the abilities he had from being dragonborn. He couldn't quite blame them. Even in his own world, the knowledge about someone who was dragonborn was rare. Most of the people he knew who knew about it were Nords, who had the knowledge past down. Even he hadn't know much about it until he discovered he was one. As far as he was aware, he was the only living one right now.

"Learning to Shout for one thing," he answered, glancing over at the Warrior of Light. "The dov can use their Voice as power. Magic, if you want to simplify it to that. Some people can learn it through much study, but it's exceptionally difficult and not everyone is even capable of doing so." The Greybeards had done it, but it also made most of their Voices too strong for them to speak normally. They could no longer talk to hold conversations lest they wanted to destroy everything in their paths, only opening their mouths when they wanted to Shout. Ulfric Stormcloak had also learned how, but he was a special individual regardless.

"I can absorb the knowledge instead of having to study it." He paused before adding, "I can also absorb dragon souls to assist with that. They don't like that very much." Considering it severed their immortality so they couldn't use necromancy to resurrect themselves, he didn't blame them. It didn't stop him from doing it however.

A Composer of life and death was an intriguing concept, one that made somewhat of sense to the Warrior of Light. He imagined it was not an easy job, and it was a shame that he had been cut from it to be brought to the Goddess’ amalgam of a world. He could imagine what it was like, being torn from one’s duty, as he was in a similar situation. He wondered how others dealt with such a change of pace and hoped that the Princess wouldn’t need to adjust.

The Dovahkiin then began to explain what it was that was granted to him as a Dragonborn. The Warrior found the facts just as interesting as Joshua’s being the Composer. There were so many worlds that he could learn about, just by being in this world and speaking with all he met.

“Yes, I knew that the dov could use their Shout as attacks… the particular one that I had battled with was particularly fond of throwing fire at us,” the Warrior explained, putting a hand to his chin as he thought it out. “The idea of a person being able to do such a thing had not occurred to me. A voice is important with casting spells where I hail from, but even such, the style of magic is different. A dov Shouts, and their voice chances, but for the mages in my world, they channel it elsewhere, and breathing fire is vastly different from throwing it with a hand.”
