As Jellicent zipped out of the room, Lucina took one last glance around it before following, the other two Pokemon trailing behind her. Vivillon still had the flashlight, shining it at shadows to reveal anything that might be hidden there. Now that they had a place within the ship to find, they needed to look for it. Where would the captain's cabin be?

"The cabin may have been concealed when the ship was wrecked," Lucina pointed out. "If we can't find it right away, then we should search for a door behind any part of the ship that was broken." There was also a chance that the entire room had shifted positions during the wreck, and it was also possible that the cabin had been destroyed completely. If the latter had happened, then their search for clues would be even more difficult - anything left behind could be lost and buried.

The only way to find out was to locate this cabin, whether it was still intact or in pieces. "If you spot anything hidden away, I shall cut through the debris for you." Falchion was sharp and old waterlogged pieces of wood were no match for it.

Right, if there was anything that looked like parts of the ship might have collapsed or fallen over, it was possible that that might be what was hiding the door to captain's cabin.

"You got that?" Black murmured to Jellicent. He didn't get an answer back, but he knew that the Pokemon had acknowledged it. Jellicent just wasn't much of a talker. Black hardly ever heard him actually speak out loud. He normally communicated in gestures, even when speaking to the other Pokemon. That was just how he was, and Black had gotten used to it. Even as a Frillish when he was first caught, he was like that.

The pair moved mostly in silence. Black could only really look as he wasn't walking on his own, but Jellicent would reach out and touch things, even if it was just the wall. He was moving slowly but surely, and eventually he came to a pause, two tentacles pushing against what looked like a wall. He seemed to give slightly under his touch.

Black frowned for a moment before calling out, "Lucina, this wall's kind of funny."

"Does it?" Lucina came over, seeing what Black and Jellicent had found. With Jellicent pushing on the wall, she could see that it was giving slightly - it wasn't exactly stable, and it didn't look like an intentional wall. Which meant it had to be the result of the ship's crash. Anything could be hiding behind it.

"Stand back," she said as she drew Falchion, its blade glimmering in what sparse light there was within the wreck. "Behind Suicune, preferably." Lucina knew Suicune quite well by now, and the Legendary was quite skilled in deflecting anything that threatened to harm her or her friends. Pieces of wood and other things were likely going to fly in every direction during this attempt to clear it out, and that posed its own risk.

It wasn't just the debris Lucina was concerned about, however. One of the creatures that now prowled the Ship Graveyard might have already occupied the space behind this makeshift wall. And it would likely attack any intruders.

"Jellicent isn't really standing, but okay," Black said, jokingly. Jellicent lifted the two tentacles he had been using to push on the wall towards the lower part of his body and shook a little. It looked a little like he was mimicking laughter that he couldn't quite actually do. Black wasn't bothered by the slight shaking beneath him. It wasn't enough to cause Black to slide off, so it was fine.

Once his show of amusement was over, Jellicent went over to float behind Suicune. He lowered himself slightly so his tentacles dragged on the ground. It was probably in an attempt to let Black be partially hidden behind Suicune as well. Which was nice of him. It might he was less likely to get hit by any debris that might go flying.

"Ready when you are," Black said to Lucina. Even so, he held an arm up to block his face, just in case. He was curious, though, to see what it was they had found. It had to be something good.

Or, it could be something dangerous. They needed to be ready, just in case.

When Black voiced that he was ready, Lucina nodded and took a few steps back, putting some space between her and her target. She needed the space in other to move. Suicune braced herself, while Vivillon ducked behind Black for safety. Once she was certain that everyone was prepared, Lucina rushed forward, bringing her blade down upon the wall.

"YAH!"

Falchion tore down through the debris, sending bits and pieces of it flying. One struck Lucina in the shoulder, but she ignored it as she spun, this time lashing out with a horizontal slash. She continued to hack away, and Suicune deflected pieces of debris with both her crest and her tails. Nothing flew further than the Legendary's face.

Eventually, Lucina saw light past the debris. After a few more slashes, she kicked through one last plank and took her first step into the hidden area. She didn't go further; Falchion poised to strike anything that lunged out at her, she scanned the room. Much of it was damaged, but even so, it was unmistakable.

"It's the captain's cabin." There was still a large desk at the center, although one side had collapsed, leaving its surface resting on an angle. Everything else that was in here was scattered along the torn planks that once made up the floor.

Sometimes, it amazed Black to see warriors do their thing. He wasn't much of one to want to see any actual battles, if he could help it. But, it was interesting to see the warriors he knew do things with their weapons. Black never did anything like that. He had Pokemon who had to do the heavy lifting. Sure, he was a pretty energetic kid, but he couldn't swing a sword. Not like Lucina could.

It was pretty badass watching her break through that wall too.

Black poked his head out once the noise stopped. He could barely see what it was past both Suicune and Lucina, but he did hear what Lucina said. It was apparently the captain's cabin, just like they had been hoping it would be. Lucky! Black hadn't thought they would find it that easily.

The question was now, were they right in assuming there was something useful in it?

Jellicent drifted out from behind Suicune, getting right up close behind Lucina so they could see over her shoulder into the captain's cabin. It sure did look fancy in comparison to the rest of the ship. Black heard that was a thing with some pirate ships.

In others, it wouldn't have flown. The captain, after all, could always be removed.

"I guess it's time to snoop," Black said.

"Agreed." Lucina stepped into the room, only sheathing her sword once she was certain that there wasn't anything waiting in ambush. If she was wrong, then she would move quickly to correct her mistake. "The floor is quite damaged, so if you do climb off Jellicent, be mindful of where you step."

It wasn't just the floor; this whole room was a mess.

Vivillon fluttered in slowly, looking uncomfortable until she was close to Lucina. The butterfly didn't stray and stuck close as the swordswoman began to search the room. Suicune waited outside - she was larger and heavier, and she didn't want to get in the way or cause more damage to the floor.

"If I'm correct..." Lucina commented, after picking up a few old books and quickly reading their titles, "the captain has an interest in unusual gems and minerals." One book was solely on gems, while another detailed the properties of different kinds of metal ore. That seemed normal, but the book that had signs of being read the most was about gemstones from various worlds. Facts if they were real, myths and evidence of their existence if it had yet to be confirmed.

This room... was definitely a wreck. And, the floor looked like it was a dangerous place to step for someone who was wearing flippers on their feet. Black would have to take them off if he had any hope of being careful where he stepped, and if he did step somewhere unsafe, he would be in his bare feet. And, maybe he would catch something gross if he stepped on something. Or, he might get a splinter.

Staying on Jellicent was the safe bet to make, so he did.

Jellicent was very careful when he floated into the room. It was a large room, almost overdone for a pirate captain, but Jellicent was still rather large - large enough for a fourteen year old boy to sit on his head easily - so he took up a lot of space. It was hard for him to move through the room to investigate, unless he phased in and out, which he could do with Black on his head.

So, he went back to his feeling around shelves and walls he was doing earlier.

"You think his interest in gems and minerals might help explain what we found earlier?" Black asked. He shifted his weight so he could look at Lucina, though he was mindful to not bother Jellicent as he did so.

"It's certainly possible," Lucina nodded. "Even if what we found is not directly in the material he has, then we might find a relative, or at least a clue that can point us in the right direction." They would have to take whatever they found with them off this ship, however. In order to research their findings, they should be in a much safer place than this shipwreck.

As if to confirm her thoughts, she heard a creak that was too loud to simply be the ship settling. It was followed by a few more, then a snap. Startled by the noise, Vivillon grabbed onto the back of Lucina's head and clung there. Lucina hurriedly picked up a few more things that might prove useful to them, but they no longer had a chance to take their time.

"We have to go... right now."

Black wasn't sure if they were going to find anything here. A lot of it looked pretty plundered already. Black wasn't surprised. This ship looked like it had been here for a while. There were a lot of people who treasure hunters in this world, and they were likely to have come and gone through the Ship Graveyard as much as they could.

The noise was a surprise. Black seemed slightly startled.

"What was that?" he whispered. Jellicent froze for a second before he turned to look in Lucina's direction. She said they needed to go. She did not need to tell him to get moving again. Jellicent was already floating, quite quickly as well, back the way they had come.

"It would be best to get back to the deck," Black said, peering over his shoulder Lucina. He had to lean forward and brace his heads on Jellicent's head to keep from tumbling off.

Quickly and carefully, Lucina made her way out of the room. "We need to not only get back up to the deck, but off it as well," she remarked. From the sounds she heard, she judged that the ship had resettled, but not in a way that would keep it intact. So they were going. Right now, as quickly as possible without causing something to happen along the way. Rushing too much might cause an accident, something they didn't have the time for.

Once she reached Suicune, Lucina climbed onto her back. She left Vivillon be; the butterfly had such a tight hold on the back of her head, she didn't think she could dislodge her at the moment. "Onwards, Suicune!" The Legendary darted back the way they had came, mindful of the holes in the floor and the shifting the ship. As she navigated her way out, she would stop and look back once in a while to make sure Jellicent was keeping up with her.

Soon they were back out on the deck, but Suicune didn't stay there. She immediately went to the railing and hopped over it, landing on a more sturdier pile of debris that wasn't part of the wreck they were just exploring.

Black couldn't feel the wreckage starting to resettle around them. It was probably because he wasn't actually touching any part of it, nor was Jellicent.

He could, however, hear it resettling around him. That was probably more worrisome to him, if he was being honest with himself. It was kind of freaky in a way. He wasn't sure he liked it, but he was glad that he was on Jellicent and not trying to run in the silly flippers he had on his feet. He would have tripped and fallen most likely, as he needed to be extra careful while walking and wearing them.

But, then Jellicent came out onto the surface of the boat. He went right over the edge, not landing on anything but floating along the water with his tentacle just gently trailing in the gentle waves below him. He floated away from the shifting wreckage before turning, as if he was watching it or something.

"Lucina?" he called out. He couldn't see her any more from the position he was at.

From their vantage point, Lucina and Suicune watched as the ship collapsed in on itself. Vivillon didn't bother, keeping her face buried in Lucina's hair. They waited until all noise and movement stopped, making sure that nothing hiding within was escaping this way. When they were certain that everything was quiet and still, Suicune hopped off the debris and landed on the water's surface, darting across it in order to reach Jellicent.

"That was... a little exciting." Lucina didn't want to think about what would have happened if they had lingered for too long, or had gotten trapped within the ship somewhere. "I suppose this also ends our search of this particular wreck, since we can't even explore it anymore." At least they had retrieved a few things from it.

She wasn't exactly sure the importance of what she was carrying, but Lucina knew that it at least had been important to someone.

Black watched in silence as the ship seemed to collapse within itself before it was pretty much no more. It was just going to be a mess of wood and items at the bottom of the ocean. Black wondered if the Goddess always let all the ships that crashed here and eventually sank just stay there, or if she removed them to keep the build-up from happening, especially since there were surely a lot of dangerous creatures that called the ocean bottom home.

Black briefly wondered if the ocean here was as deep as back home. The Goddess could be detailed with her world, but he didn't know if she cared that hard about a place that wasn't likely to torment the people who lived here. But, he didn't think too hard on it, though. It probably was because she had probably gotten bored and decided to go all out in figuring it out.

He turned to look at Lucina and Suicune as they approached.

"Yeah, I guess we're done," he said, his eyes briefly going to look back at where the ship had been. If they had been still on it when it had sank... that could have turned out very poorly. Black didn't want to imagine what could have happened.

They had found something, but no answers to it. It was kind of disappointing. What were they supposed to do now?

"Wanna check out some more ships?" he asked Lucina. They might as well, while they're here.

"We still have time to explore a few more ships," Lucina smiled. "Hopefully, ones that are sturdier and have less mystery about them." One mystery was enough for today. They hadn't even found all the answers they wanted, and any further research would have to be done on dry land. But they could still explore for a bit longer.

Maybe they would uncover a treasure that was a little more straightforward.

"Come on, then." Lucina patted Suicune on the neck, and the Water-type turned and started heading back to the edge of the Ship Graveyard, walking on the water as if it was solid ground. If they were going to make the best use of what remaining time they had left here, they better get started. Only once Suicune left the water did Vivillon pull her face away from Lucina's head to look around.

The butterfly hoped that the next ship they decided to venture into was one that wouldn't start collapsing on them.
