In the thick fog, a dark shadow made its way down the street before turning into an alley, hiding from those that made the town their home.

Link wasn't sure what they were, or how dangerous they might be. Maybe he was just hearing things, and yet... he couldn't be entirely certain. This fog was strange, hiding things that the townsfolk might not even recognize. The people who normally lived here didn't even seem to be present at the moment. The wolf couldn't catch their scents in the air.

Just... something else. Sometimes, he saw movement - a fleeting figure here and there, not enough for him to make out any details.

When everything seemed quiet again, he crept out of the alley and hurried down the street, alone, claws clicking against the pavement, chain links clinking against each other. There was clearly something going on in this town, and it was enough to change him. He had to find a way out, but the fog kept him from knowing exactly where he was at.

Oogie Boogie

Ah, fog!

Oogie Boogie loved fog! It was the type of weather that was perfect for spooking! When there was fog around, it meant you could easily sneak up on someone and scare them straight out of their skin. Oogie had performed many a scare while hiding in a fog. Humans were naturally wary of fog. It was one of those things that just seemed to freak them out. Maybe it was the moistness of the air around them, leaving them with a sticky feeling as if it was raining around them but there was no rain. Maybe it was how they couldn't see far ahead of them, and the fog could hide just about anything within its depths.

Either way, Oogie Boogie loved it. And, that was why he found himself in Silent Hill.

He had heard about Silent Hill while eavesdropping on some of the locals in Radiant Garden. They had heard about how weird things seemed to happen there, how the things were unusual and scary and no one actually understood what was happening there. That there were monsters there.

If there were monsters, there were possibilities for Oogie Boogie to get more minions. All he had were his Heartless, Tron and that weird girl he had met while in the ghost mansion. He needed more. He was a king. He deserved more.

And, so that was how he found himself strolling down the street of the foggy town. He didn't mind the fog. In fact, he felt quite at home in this strange and unsettling atmosphere. Maybe he would be king of Silent Hill, too.

As he continued on his way, Link suddenly caught the scent of something he hadn't smelled earlier in this fog. Bugs.

The wolf followed the scent down the street, wary of anything that might attempt to ambush him. The fog was perfect for hiding in, and he wasn't about to get caught off-guard by anything that happened to live here. He should be able to both hear and smell anything before it could reach him. The bug scent didn't seem to belong to anything approaching him, so whatever it belonged to hadn't noticed him here yet.

As soon as he reached the intersection, he discovered the source of the smell. Link thought he had spotted a Poe at first, but it wasn't carrying a lantern. It was a sack - filled with bugs, if the scent was anything to go by. And it was just strolling down the street like the fog was no big deal.

Maybe it lived here? Link couldn't be sure, so he kept his distance, just in case. Sticking close to a building, he watched the sack as it casually strolled along. The wolf didn't think it had spotted him here yet.

Oogie Boogie

This place was a little drab, wasn't it? Oogie Boogie had been looking around for so long now, but he hadn't found anything that really screamed horrific to him. It was just an empty, foggy town. What was so spooky about that?

"They need a change of decor," Oogie Boogie muttered as he took his stroll. "Add a few skeletons hanging from trees. Maybe some cobwebs on the buildings. Have they heard of jack-o-lanterns? Those things really spice up the atmosphere. If someone wanted SIlent Hill to be properly scary..." Oogie Boogie sighed, aggravated. People.... People were just so stupid. They were terrified of this place when there was nothing remotely terrifying about it.

That was when Oogie Boogie suddenly stopped. There were no noises around him, but he knew something. Something very interesting.

He was being watched.

"Whoever you are, show yourselves," he shouted. His voice was partially swallowed by the fog, making it sound quieter than it actually was. It shouldn't have mattered, though. He was sure the little spy wasn't too far away from him. "Or, I'll have to summon my heartless to destroy you." He wasn't sure if the heartless could do that. He didn't really care. They would have to try if he told them to.

Heartless? The dark creatures that prowled Radiant Garden, although some of them roamed the planet far from that town. Link had encountered them before and didn't find them particularly strong. Or frightening, to be honest. But those battles had been waged when he had an entire arsenal to use and healing items in case he got hurt. Right now, while he could move faster, he was restricted to just his physical strength, his claws and his teeth.

And in a place like this, he wouldn't want to risk an unnecessary battle, especially one that would draw in those prowling the fog.

So Link approached, the chain on his foreleg softly clinking together and marking his location to anyone who was close enough to hear it. The colors of his fur caused him to blend in with the fog somewhat, leaving his eyes to be just about the only feature he had that stood out in this environment - distinctively blue and sharp. He made sure he was close enough for the sack to see him and immediately stopped, keeping some distance between them in case the sack happened to not like wolves.

Oogie Boogie waited, feeling impatient. How dare this being take so long to show themselves to him? Oogie Boogie highly considered killing it once it did show up in front of him. Honestly, it would deserve nothing else from him. Of course, being from Halloween Town, sometimes death was an odd concept. It wasn't quite the same as it was for the humans they were meant to be terrorizing. And, some of them were just so bad at it. It was so lucky for them that Oogie Boogie had to switch from his own holiday town to theirs. Some real frightening was going on then.

What appeared before Oogie Boogie was a wolf. He had not been expecting a wolf. Why the hell was a wolf here?

"So it was you, doggie?" Oogie Boogie said, narrowing his eyes on the wolf. It didn't approach him. It was probably being cautious. Maybe it was smarter than Oogie Boogie was willing to give it credit for. He didn't think of many things as smart. Nothing was as smart as he was.

Oogie Boogie got closer to the wolf, but not too close. It wouldn't be able to lunge at him without him having a chance to react to it.

"You don't look like you belong here," he stated. This wolf looked nothing like anything else in Silent Hill. It looked sort of fantastical.

Link allowed the sack to get closer to him, although he noted that he didn't get too close - he was probably being cautious, too. But it didn't look like the sack was planning to attack him yet, which was good. Again, he didn't want to start a fight here if it wasn't needed.

The wolf listened to the sack's comments. No, he definitely didn't belong here. He wasn't even a wolf most of the time. Link just happened to be in town when it shifted. And then he shifted. Once he got out of here, he planned to avoid returning unless it was for something important. Lesson learned, he guessed.

Not wanting to bark in acknowledgement - he was trying not to draw any unwanted attention to them - Link exhaled and shook his head to confirm that he wasn't from here. It wasn't a gesture a normal wolf would use, but he couldn't think of any other way to get his answer across.

What a strange wolf it was. It answered Oogie Boogie as if there was no issue of communication between them. That wasn't unusual for Oogie Boogie, seeing where he came from. But, it also meant that the wolf was of the unusual sort. A regular wolf would have maybe attacked him. That regular wolf probably would have gotten killed then.

But, that wasn't the case here. That gave Oogie Boogie some thought.

The last place he had visited was a haunted mansion. In that haunted mansion, he had dealt with an annoying ghostie. And, he had also gotten himself a minion in Pururut. Wherever she was, she needed to do his bidding from now on. She had done a pretty good job at listening to what he said. He could use more minions who were so obedient.

Maybe the wolf could be another minion for him. After all, kings needed minions, and there was no one who was more of a king than Oogie Boogie.

"Follow me," he ordered before he turned off down the street. The wolf better follow, or he was going to be mad. When Oogie Boogie got mad... he did things. He couldn't fully remember everything he did; his memory was pretty shoddy. But, he would be something horrific, he was sure.

Link briefly eyed the sack as he started walking down the street before following after him. To be honest, this guy seemed a little shady. But what else could he do? He was trapped in his wolf form and lost in this fog. Right now, he didn't mind having some company, even if that company was currently an odd sack filled with bugs who was leading him down the street.

Like before, he kept some distance between them - Link still felt like he had to be somewhat cautious, and he also wanted to make sure he had space in case the sack suddenly stopped for whatever reason. However, he was more concerned about their surroundings. While the fog prevented him from seeing much around them, his other senses gave him an idea of what was out there. Link picked up strange scents from the air, and his ears twitched with every sound that came to him.

Nothing moved towards them yet, and so the wolf continued following the sack, his claws clicking on the hard surface underneath his paws.

Oogie Boogie tossed a glance over his shoulder to make sure that the wolf was following him like he had originally bid. He was. Oogie Boogie grinned as he looked ahead again. He had yet another minion who was doing what he had told them to do. Excellent. He didn't need Lock, Shock and Barrel in this world when he had a supernatural wolf, a girl with superpowers and... whatever the hell Tron was supposed to be. Oogie Boogie still wasn't sure on that.

The town continued to be eerily quiet. What was more disconcerting to Oogie Boogie was how there was basically nothing spooky going on. What kind of haunted town was this supposed to be if nothing spooky was going on? There was just fog going around; that was it.

Oogie Boogie made a face. People talked this place up as if it was the most terrifying thing that the Goddess had brought to this world. But, Oogie Boogie didn't agree. There were children in Halloween Town that would make this place look like a theme park.

Up ahead, there was a scream. Oogie Boogie stopped walking.

"What was that?" he asked, narrowing his eyes. He knew a human scream when he heard it, and that sounded human to him.

Everything was quiet. Eerily so. But then there was a sudden scream and they both stopped in their tracks. Link stepped up so he was standing beside the sack, his ears trained forward. It sounded like a person, but a person would only scream like that if they were either frightened or in danger. Part of him wanted to go running off to the rescue, but he was well aware that the fog could conceal pretty much anything. If he raced off into it without thinking, then he might make matters worse.

So what was it? Fear? Danger? Both?

The wolf's lips then pulled back, revealing sharp teeth as he growled. There was danger up ahead. He wasn't sure what, but he could feel it. There was a possibility that the scream they heard was a trick meant to lure them that way, but if it was genuine, then whoever made it was in trouble. And they needed to help!

Link's sense of caution and common sense kept his more reckless side at bay. They didn't know what was out there, and just running in at full speed could do more harm than good.

That scream...

That scream was exactly what Oogie Boogie needed to liven this place up. Screaming was something was better for his (non-existent) ears than music. Music? He could give or take music. Most of it was awful anyways. But, screaming... Screaming was magical.

The screaming was where he needed to be.

"Let's go," he said to the wolf before he trekked off the road. It was up ahead, but it sounded somewhere to the left. He would make his way across yards to go there directly, as opposed to trying to move around all the yards to make it there in a less direct way. Oogie Boogie didn't care about trespassing; he trespassed all the time. Borders couldn't keep a king out!

The question was, who was screaming and why were they do so? And, was there terror that he could partake in?

Oogie wouldn't know until he reached there. It was a few streets away, yet.

It looked like they were heading directly there. Literally - they were passing through yards and anything else Link assumed was property of someone. Right now, he didn't think trespassing was an issue. There was nobody here but them. Who was going to yell at them for trekking through their yard?

Where did everyone go whenever the town changed like this?

Link darted around houses, hopped over and slipped underneath fences - anything that would get him through to the other side. The town felt abandoned. Homes and yards devoid of human life, cars silent and still in the driveways. The ever present fog muddied the scenery, muffled distant sounds.

As he squeezed through a gap in a fence - the latest obstacle in their way - Link realized that the sack was far too big to fit through it as it was. Even if there was enough space for the sack to squeeze through, he might get his fabric caught on something and tear it. That would... probably be bad. What would happen to him then? To all those bugs?

So Link knocked a few loose boards out of the way, making the gap the perfect size for any sack of bugs to get through. Even ones who stood so tall and proud, like this one did. Or that was what he seemed to be doing, anyway.

Oogie Boogie was glad that he had decided to just go through the yards and not follow the roads. The roads would have taken him in an annoying zigzag pattern. He probably would have gotten frustrated and given up a long time ago if it had to take him that long to get to where he was heading.

Oogie Boogie's attention span wasn't his strongest aspect. He didn't have much of an attention span at all. Unless it had to do with something that gave him power, then he was more likely to pay attention to something for longer.

Or, if it had to deal with spooks. Oogie Boogie loved spooks.

The last obstacle in his way - he wasn't actually sure if it was the actual last obstacle but he wasn't a fan of there being obstacles in his way at all - was a fence that he wasn't able to fit through. Oogie Boogie was going to snap, annoyed at this, but then the wolf had busted in some of the boards, giving Oogie ample space to fit through. Sucking in his gut, he did so.

"Good," he said with a nod of approval. Once more, he had picked his servants well. He hadn't even had to say anything.

They were almost there. Another scream echoed in the air, and Oogie headed towards it.

Link responded to the sack's remark with a swish of his tail, and then they were off again, heading towards the sound of the scream. Once again, he was tempted to run ahead. Hearing people in danger was something he couldn't ignore - he always helped those in need. But in this strange environment, he wouldn't know just what sort of danger he was plowing into.

The wolf moved carefully, trying to minimize the amount of sound the chain on his foreleg was making. Any threat would go after him first, unless the sack decided to yell or otherwise make himself known to what was lurking in the fog.

As they got closer, Link spied movement - blurred shadows in the surroundings. He caught strange scents that he was unable to identify. The further they traveled, the more he felt like they were being watched, and that something was waiting for them to drop their guards. What were they walking into?
