Arystar had only needed a little back when he had stopped by Radiant Garden. He wasn't quite sure how he felt about the place, if he was being honest. The Heartless he saw there were unsettling to him, even if they didn't have quite the effect that the akuma back home did. They were even on the cuter side, but Arystar thought that might have made them even creepier to him. He knew better than to assume that appearance really meant anything in a place like this.

Because of that, he had only traveled through the town in well-lit places, where it was less likely for the Heartless to pop out and attack him. He wasn't even sure if his Innocence would be able to work on them. No, it was best to stay away if he was able to.

Which was why he had found himself in someplace called the Fairy Tail Headquarters. Honestly, he had not thought he would be allowed inside at all since it sounded like it was a place for a group to stay and hang out. Kind of like the headquarters of the Black Order, where Arystar should have been instead of here, though here was where he was right now. And, if he was here, he might as well try and find the person who was supposed to be back at the Black Order with him.

He had been lucky when he had entered the headquarters, discovering it was also a business and he hadn't been intruding. He had found a quiet table in the corner, eating a small meal. Despite his tall and lanky frame, Arystar sat scrunched into himself. It wasn't necessarily because he meant to, but he was so used to trying to be unnoticeable - especially because his natural appearance made him stand out in comparison to most humans - that it was something that just happened.

No one had paid him much mind since he had gotten food, so it looked like he was going to be in luck and be left alone.

It was just another normal day... or least what passed for a normal day in this world. Miranda was traveling with her friends, who weren't from her world. And they were visiting one of the towns they often stopped at, which wasn't from her world, either. What she was hoping now was that nothing terrible happened while they were here. During her months of living on this planet, Miranda had been in fights that she would've been perfectly fine not being in. It usually involved her trying to maintain a barrier while lightning and alchemy were being blasted all around her.

Scary, but she felt reassured with the knowledge that her friends would never intentionally harm her!

"Once we're done eating," she was saying as they entered Fairy Tail Headquarters, "maybe we can go see the market again? I thought I saw-" As she looked around, trying to find an empty table the three of them could sit at, she spotted a familiar figure and froze.

Tall and very noticeable, but trying to look as unnoticeable as possible. Eating food like she had seen him do so many times before. That awkward look that he always wore on his face. Miranda's mouth dropped open. She snapped it shut once she realized what she was doing, but opened it again to say something. No words came out.

So she reached for the Major's sleeve and tugged on it several times, each more urgent than the last. From her perch on Armstrong's broad shoulder, a curious Pikachu made a comment. That guy over there, the one Miranda seemed to be staring at, was wearing the same uniform as her.

It was a very nice day out. Armstrong thought most days were nice, even the ones where rain was pouring down over his head. One had to think about what things benefited from the rain that fell. The world couldn't quite exist without rain.

It, however, was not raining as he and his companions traveled through Radiant Garden. It was a very nice day. The people in the market were out in full force. Armstrong didn't find Radiant Garden to be his favourite place to be, but it was still a nice and peaceful place.

If one didn't include the heartless, of course, but Armstrong didn't mind the heartless. The ones here were pretty harmless in compared to others of their kind, and he could easily scare them away with his alchemy, even if he might not have been able to outright defeat them.

They made their way to the Fairy Tail Headquarters, which was functioning as a bit of a restaurant in this world. Probably to make money, which everyone needed to get by. Armstrong was lucky that the Briggs fort supplied his pay.

He was nodding along to what Miranda said - going to the market afterward sounded like a good idea! - when she stopped. He stopped as well, and she started to pull on his sleeve.

"What is it?" he asked, sounding urgency in his voice. He looked up and around the room, trying to spot what could have possibly caused the reaction in his friend.

Arystar was eating peacefully when he heard the sound of the door open again. Instinctively, he tried to turn himself, as if his hunched form would make him look even smaller from the side. He knew it wasn't really possible, but he tried anyway.

If it wasn't for him turning his head and getting a good look at the door, he wouldn't have noticed the people who came in. The large man in the blue uniform was unrecognizable to him. Arystar actually found him to be rather intimidating to look at. He was the type of person that Arystar might have avoided approaching unless he had to.

But, the woman....

"Miranda....?" he asked, his voice quiet. She probably didn't hear him, even as he slowly stood up from his chair to stare at her. He just couldn't believe it. That couldn't be her... Could it?

Arystar.

It really was Arystar.

Miranda swallowed, trying to get rid of the lump that was forming in her throat. She almost couldn't believe what she was seeing. After all these months, there was someone she recognized from home standing in the same room as her. How much distance had she traveled in this world, thinking that she might never see her friends again?

She left Armstrong and Pikachu and strode purposely across the dining area to Arystar, stopping once she was at his side. "I-Is it really you?" she asked quietly, her voice about to break. She was about to break. Miranda wanted to hug him, but she didn't know if she could. She would cause a scene, and... and she was still afraid that the Arystar in front of her wasn't real, that he was just a figment of her imagination.

Her lower lip quivered. She wanted to cry.

Armstrong looked after Miranda as she left his side to go see to the stranger. His gaze went back to the man who was at the table. Now, it was clear that he was looking in their direction too. Or, more specifically, he was looking at Miranda.

Armstrong looked the man over. He was wearing an uniform that was very much like the one that Miranda always wore. She had mentioned multiple times she had been from an Order - that was why she wore the uniform. Armstrong had, however, never seen anyone from her world before.

Except, he was assuming, for now.

He kept quiet, though, as he slowly approached as well. He didn't want to interrupt, in case he had made a mistake about what was happening before him.

Arystar continued to stare.

She was moving. Miranda was moving. Did that make her real? Arystar had seen and dealt with things that acted real, but weren't really real. They were just supposed to look that way to trick you.

Arystar blinked his eyes to make sure that he wasn't just imagining what was going on before him.

Miranda was still there. She was still there.

"You're real," he said. His voice sounded choked, and he sniveled a little. Brusquely, he rubbed at his nose to keep it from dribbling. It tended to do that whenever he really cried. Miranda looked like she wanted to cry as well. Oh, seeing her look like she wanted to cry made Arystar really cry.

"Miranda, it's really you," he whimpered before he could stop himself from lunging forward and embracing her in a tight hug. She felt like Miranda, too. She felt real.

It felt like time had stopped, and Miranda wasn't even responsible for it.

As soon as Arystar hugged her, she couldn't hold her tears back anymore. It was him. He was real, and he was here. She wrapped her arms around him, buried her face into his shoulder and cried. She just cried. She didn't know how else she was supposed to respond. She didn't think she even wanted another way to respond.

She didn't care if she was making a scene anymore.

"Oh, A-Arystar!" she choked. "I thought... t-that I would... never..." Miranda thought that she might never see him or any of their friends ever again. It was an all too real possibility. If the Goddess didn't drag them here, then it was possible that they would die in battle back in their world. And the Goddess might not bring them back to life. Miranda would never see them again.

They had lost so many friends already.

The situation before Armstrong was a surprising one. It seemed that they had indeed run into one of Miranda's friends from her homeworld. It had been so long since they had come here, and Armstrong could not recall ever meeting such a person. He had seen plenty from his own - everyone at the Briggs fort for one thing - but no one from Miranda's.

But, here was someone. Someone who was a friend of hers. Someone who was making her cry while simultaneously crying as well.

Armstrong could feel the pricks at the corners of his eyes. The scene... This scene was just so....

"BEAUTIFUL!" he boomed out, not caring of the surprised stares that were suddenly thrown his way. He could not see them through the tears that now cascaded handsomely down his stunning face. He swooped forward and scooped both Miranda and her friend into a hug, clasping them to his bosom to let them personally feel his overflowing emotions. "WHAT A BEAUTIFUL REUNION!"

Arystar just couldn't believe it. Miranda was hugging him back and now she was crying. It was as if they were back home and at the Order.

He remembered the talks about her being missing. Some had thought she might have gone AWOL, but Arystar had argued against it. There was no possible way that Miranda could or would have done something like that. It just wasn't in her personality. It would take a lot to make her do it. He knew something had been up with her disappearance.

He just hadn't expected what it turned out to be.

Arystar was abruptly picked off his feet by the large man who had accompanied Miranda in. He would have been surprised and maybe a bit scared, but right now all he knew was he was too happy to see Miranda. The man didn't seem like a threat, though, so it was alright.

For now, he'd just cry.

Pikachu let out a startled yelp as Armstrong... did one of his things. She grabbed onto his ear, then latched onto the top of his mostly bald head in an effort to stay up high, so she wouldn't fall and end up getting crushed in this sudden bear hug.

Still, her annoyed expression faded into a smile as she observed the three humans from her high perch.

Miranda couldn't even react to Armstrong right away. It just happened so suddenly, and she was still crying... she still couldn't quite get over the fact that she was hugging Arystar. But he was here... and Armstrong was here... and Pikachu... she had her friends here. She didn't have all her friends here, but she still had friends. Such wonderful, kind friends...

And they were stuck together in a giant hug...

She wanted to laugh now, but it just came out as hiccups. Each one shook her a little bit, and she couldn't help but smile at how silly it was, even though the tears were still sliding down her cheeks.

The tears that ran down Armstrong's face continued to flow as he held the two exorcists tightly to his chest. It was so good to know that they had finally gotten to meet again after all these months. It was a trait of the Armstrongs - being happy for someone else, whether they were friend or stranger. And, in this situation he had both, so he had double the reason to be happy.

The pair needed time to talk now, so Armstrong very gently set them down on their feet, even though he very much wanted to keep hugging them and showing them just how happy he was for their reunion. There were many ways that a reunion could go wrong. Such things probably happened frequently in this world, considering that people could be dealing with things that they weren't familiar with. He was happy that Miranda didn't have one of those.

"My apologies, Pikachu," he said, as if suddenly remembering that he had the small Pokemon on him. She was so light that he barely noticed her weight at times. He reached up and stroked her with one large finger. He must have disturbed her when he had moved so suddenly.

Arystar couldn't stop his crying, even though he knew he was being rather silly and childish about it now. It was hard to stop crying whenever he had started. It was a habit that was probably silly and over the top for someone like him. He was an adult, after all. He had been one technically for eleven years, as he was now twenty-nine. But, crying was a habit he couldn't quite control.

When he was placed back on his feet - he was surprised that the large man was capable of holding them both up for so long because he didn't feel exactly like he was on the light side, even if he was kind of slender for a man of his age - he finally released Miranda from the hug he had engulfed her in.

He hadn't exactly stopped crying, though, so he used his free hand to wipe at the wet tears on his face. It made the backs of his gloves wet and didn't quite get all of it off his face. So, he tried rubbing at his face with the fingers on his other hand. It was a little more effective, but he wasn't quite down crying yet.

"It's good to see you," he finally said with a smile. He was able to take Miranda in fully now, tears and all.

Maybe his own tears were finally starting to slow down, but he couldn't quite tell. He was sure his cheeks were flushing slightly, though, as many people were now looking their way. It hadn't been his intention to cause a scene like this...

Pikachu rubbed her cheek against Armstrong's hand and returned to his shoulder. It wasn't a big deal or anything. She understood.

As she was released from the hug, Miranda let go of Arystar, almost reluctantly. It was as if he would just disappear once she had done so. She couldn't think of why she thought that he would. He wouldn't. And he was still standing in front of her, smiling, as if just seeing her meant the world to him.

Seeing him meant the world to her.

She returned his smile, brushing away her own tears. Why was she crying like this? She honestly couldn't help it... "It's g-good to see you, too..." she managed to say before she hiccuped again. Oh, goodness. This was such an important moment, and now she had the hiccups...

It didn't matter. Arystar was here. That was what mattered.

Armstrong thought that perhaps now was a good time for him to let them have a moment to themselves. He knew that he, for one, had intruded on what could have been a private moment, but he couldn't control his overwhelming emotions he had had for the joy his friend must have been feeling. It was quite the hard burden, to be one who was able to feel so strongly for others. Not many had such a gift. A gift and a curse, and it was passed brilliantly through the Armstrong Family. It was their curse to bare, to be able to feel for strongly.

"Let us grab something to eat and drink," he said to Pikachu. Now, he would leave them in peace for a moment.

He went to the nearby counter. No server had approached them, but maybe that was all well and good for the moment. They didn't need to be interrupted any further, especially by strangers. The person who was tending the counter offered him a menu, which he started to flip through, holding it in a way so Pikachu could get a good look at what was being offered as well.
