The College of Winterhold was under attack. At first, the mages closed the gate in order to prevent the horde of Falmer from arriving upon their doorstep. When it became apparent that the twisted elves were bent on knocking it off its hinges, it was decided that driving them from the narrow bridge was a better idea. Wielding their spells, the faculty clawed back the College's lone access point, one step at a time. But the Falmer clustered at the end of the bridge, launching their own spells and arrows at the mages.

"Be careful, young man!" called an elderly teacher as the redhead made a precarious sprint over the bridge.

Roy had been staying at the College for the past few days. While he wasn't a mage, they had let him in due to the blade he carried with him. Now, he was determined to use that very same blade to help those who had let him in from the freezing cold. Another teacher followed him to the end of the bridge, while the others stepped aside to let him through. Though powerful, the magic they were casting worked best with distance between them and their enemies. In order to quickly bring down this many Falmer, they needed someone who could strike at close range and keep them away from the spellcasters.

As soon as one of the teachers lit up a group of Falmer with a barrage of fireballs, Roy rushed forward and cut them down, adding his own flames to the mix. Once those creatures were gone, he turned his focus to the next set, avoiding the mages' spells and attacking whenever he saw an opening. More Falmer scrambled up to the cliff where the bridge anchored the College to the rest of the world.

Despite being in Briggs, Roy wasn't cold. After a few minutes, the heat of the combined flames had melted the surrounding snow, clouding the air with curtains of steam. The noble was standing on the bare ground, the Sword of Seals glowing with its own fire. He was surrounded by Falmer, but they were kept at bay by the mages' spells. Roy watched the creatures carefully; when a large one appeared, clad in a heavy suit of dark armor made of chitin, he knew that was his next target. That one was stronger than most of the others; he couldn't let it get past him and attack the mages on the bridge.

With a snarl, the Falmer charged him. Roy rushed to meet it, his blade clashing against that of his opponent and creating a burst of fire.

Holland's LFO flew over the icy landscapes of Briggs, taking in the snow around him. Like hell was he going to be walking his way through all that snow down there. The land was almost treacherous, and he probably heard more news reports of people dying of the cold and chill down there than he heard of people disappearing into Kokiri. It was like people were aware that Kokiri was dangerous and needed to be avoided if you didn't know how to take care of yourself, but were still unaware of how to put on winter clothes.

Luckily for Holland, his LFO was heated.

His destination was the College. As part of a way to keep himself financed in this world, Holland still took courier jobs. This particular package that the mages ordered didn't need him to take his whole airship here to deliver it, so he tucked it under his seat and took his LFO. It might have been a good thing, considering what he saw when he approached.

The College was under attack. Falmer, from what Holland could tell.

"Again?" he muttered, exasperated. The last time he was here, it was under attack too. By a dragon and that had been the Goddess' doing, but still. This was ridiculous.

He drove his LFO to the center of the College grounds where he wasn't in the way and climbed out. "I see you're having another problem," he called to the nearest mage. He recognized them from the last time he was here. He wanted to see if there was anything he was able to do to help them.

Zero

Zero was not one some would call ordinary, even among his own kind. The red reploid was very much a curious soul, and a traveller at heart. He cared for most everyone he met, and when he happens upon those who need help he is never shy to offer. This was one such occasion.

The sound of fighting carried across the barren landscape for quite a ways, and while he was unfamiliar with the specifics of the lands here in terms of their relations with their neigbors, fighting was never good. Dashing across the snow blanketed earth, Zero watched as a grand castle like structure rose on the horizon, through the haze of falling snow.

Unfortunately the Reploid had more important matters to concern himself with than admiring the architecture, such as the battle raging just in front of it. Pulling out his Z-saber, Zero sprinted into the fray, trying to gain an idea of which side he would fight for. From what he could tell most of the defenders were ranged, with one lone melee fighter keeping the army off the mages behind him. It looked to him like the swordsman could use some help, if not with fighting itself, then with keeping the sheer volume of enemies contained.

Teleporting himself a short distance into what he decided to be the side of his allies, he rushed forth to stem the flow of Falmer to the area where the mages were casting. He sent a reassuring smile at his new allies to show that he was on their side before resuming the fight.

The mage turned towards Holland, her eyes peeking out from under the hood of her robes. "Oh, hey, captain. I want to say that at least it isn't a dragon this time, but..." They were dealing with an army of Falmer here. "Sometimes these things just crawl out of the cracks in the ice with nothing but murder on their minds. They really hate people!"

Back down at the front of the bridge, Roy was up against the armored Falmer. The eyeless creature was bent on killing him. The noble, on the other hand, was working on pushing his opponent back, step by step. Other Falmer were trying to rush in on him, but the mages stopped them with their spells. Another warrior dashing into the fray distracted them as well and soon, Roy had his Falmer right where he wanted it.

Shoving back with the Sword of Seals, Roy then kicked the Falmer in the stomach, causing it to topple backwards and over the edge of the cliff. Instead of watching it fall to its death, he turned immediately to continue the fight. It was a good thing he had done so, for he ended up dodging a bolt of lightning.

Clutching a staff, this Falmer hissed and fired off more electricity. Roy darted into a group of its allies and attacked them instead; the bolts ended up striking them, helping him to cut them down. From the aftermath of this instance of friendly fire, he pelted the Falmer mage from a distance with the flames of his blade.

As he continued to fight his way though the creatures, keeping them away from the bridge, he ended up closer to the warrior, the one in the red armor.

Great, more fun things that wanted to kill him. Holland thought when he had been brought here, there wasn't going to be so many things that liked killing people. Not that Coralians liked it, but they sure did a number on his home planet when they came out of the earth during the Second Summer of Love. Turned out, there were things that were far more pro-active at wanting to kill him.

Pro-active in the way his brother had been pro-active in really giving it a go.

"I'm going to go up, if you don't mind," he said, turning away from the mage. He made a stop at his LFO to pick something up before he took the pathways and staircases in the College to get him on the ledge that circled the tops of the walls. He went around it until he found the bridge, positioning himself up there.

His prize from his LFO? His rifle. He would be a much better shot from up here. Besides, he wasn't durable in the way some people were, so it was safer for him to be up here. He wasn't built of anything fancy nor did he possess fancy powers. He was just a flesh and blood human; being up with his gun was where he would be most useful.

"Just don't shoot the red and blue things," he muttered to himself before he shot at his first falmer. Maybe he wasn't the most durable of people who joined this fray, but he had a really good shot.
