Kicking his fins, Link plunged further into the dark waters.

Having explored much of the planet by now and seeing most of what there was to see, he had started venturing into places where few dared to go. Underwater around the Ship Graveyard was one of them. As one of the more prominent landmarks out on the ocean, the cluster of shipwrecks attracted all kinds of aquatic creatures seeking new homes. They hid well in the darkness and hunted prey here. Most divers sought brighter, friendlier waters.

Equipped to explore below the surface - thanks to his Zora Armor - and armed to the teeth, Link decided to brave the deep blue.

A Clawitzer jetted past him as he swam, disappearing into a hole torn into the submerged hull of a ship. Instead of following, Link left it be and continued through a forest of rusting metal and rotting wooden planks. No sooner had he emerged on the other side did a dolphin of some kind approach him curiously, no doubt wondering what a land-dweller was doing underwater.

In some unspoken agreement, they ended up exploring together, finding themselves under the upside-down deck of what looked like a grand luxury vessel in its lifetime. Barnacles now encrusted its surface, with fish and eels peeking out through whatever nooks and crannies they had made their homes in. What man lost, nature reclaimed.

Flemeth
© Jessica // CURRENTLY Offline

Exploration was one of the things that Flemeth did a lot of that she didn't do back home. Back in Thedas, she normally kept herself busy by other means, though she did explore most of the continent already centuries ago. Things didn't quite change as much as humans liked to believe they did, especially not when they spent so much of their time warring among themselves. But, there was so much to see in this new world that Flemeth rarely stayed in one place for too long.

Of course, if one was really looking for her, they could always hop onto the Flying Pussyfoot. It was by far her favourite place to be. Trains were so fascinating.

Today, she found herself standing on the top of a partially sunken vessel. It looked like one of those ones that would have been grand back when it was built, but the ocean was not doing it any favours. It was upside down now, so she technically stood on its bottom. She wanted to explore the depths around the ship graveyard, as there was always something interesting to find there. New ships came, old ones fell apart to the ocean's faraway floor. New creatures were warped here from wherever the Goddess stole them from.

All sorts of fun things.

Of course, Flemeth needed to swim to go see what was inside of the vessel. Luckily for Flemeth, swimming wasn't a problem when you were a shapeshifter.

Flemeth took a small jump off the boat and into the water. By the time she hit the surface, she was a large shark.

Link heard a splash at the surface. It wasn't the minor ones caused by leaping fish or diving birds; this one had substance to it. Turning, he noticed a shark descending in the water. A rather large one, too. His dolphin friend had also noticed it, for she clicked what sounded like a warning to him. But she didn't approach it or make any moves to attack, instead circling around the area and waiting to see what the shark did.

Plenty of people were afraid of sharks, but Link wasn't one of them. Sharks were, like many of the creatures on the planet, misunderstood. They deserved to be treated with respect like everyone else. Unless it was starving, it wasn't going to suddenly attack them like so many stories would claim. Give it some space and hopefully, it would do the same, provided that nobody looked like food to it.

Link felt like there was something odd about this shark, though...

Flemeth

Flemeth liked the way the water rushed past her as she swam. She wasn't often swimming, and when she was, it was normally in rivers, ponds or lakes. When Flemeth needed to cross something large like the ocean, she was often flying. Flying was something she really enjoyed. But, she enjoyed swimming too. Maybe she should do it more often than she did.

As she moved farther through the water, she noticed she was not alone. Ahead of her, she was able to make out two other living people. Relatively. One was a dolphin. The other one was...

Link. It had been quite a while since she'd seen him. But, the world was a big place and it was likely for people t run into each other and then never meet again. It was always interesting to her to see people more than once, especially when she wasn't going out of her way to find them. Which, she rarely needed to. And, why would she? There wasn't anything special about a lot of these people that she met that she needed to go out of her way to see them.

But, Link was interesting to her, so it was nice to see him again. He probably didn't recognize her though, and speaking as a shark was a difficult thing to do.

Quickly, she shifted back to her witch form before shifting back. There. He should know who was she now.

The shark was actually Flemeth. Link didn't feel surprised over that revelation. It was a little difficult to feel surprised over many of the things that people living here were capable of doing. Occurrences that would be strange anywhere else happened so often here that it was normal. Anyone you met could possibly be a shapeshifter.

Including himself.

Unable to speak underwater, he nodded in recognition and then looked back at the ship they were currently underneath. Sensing that the shark wasn't there to harm them, the dolphin swam over, squeaking and pointing at a doorway with her snout. Its frame and surrounding wall had been damaged, most likely when it crashed. If they were going to explore this upside-down vessel, then that was their gateway inside.

Link glanced at Flemeth. Was she planning on tagging along?

Link recognized her. Good. She wasn't sure what would happen if he didn't, but there could have possibly been a fight. Flemeth wouldn't have wanted to kill Link since he was pretty high on her 'do not kill' list in this world, so when she did kill him she might have shred a single tear. If Flemeth wasn't a shark, she may have laughed at the thought.

She hadn't cried in centuries.

Well, since she was here, she might as well join whatever it was Link and his dolphin companion was up to. Flemeth swam to the opening that was found. She paused for a moment, listening. It was interesting since sharks weren't particularly good listeners, but she was still a person and she knew more about sensing unknown dangers than a regular shark.

She didn't note anything in there so she swam inside. For now, there was still a bit of light from the surface to see by, but she didn't quite need that. Again, creature of the deep, able to navigate its own waters. Not that sight was the only way for her to do that. From what she did see, this place was a mess.

Flemeth had gone inside and Link followed, giving himself a push forward by kicking both his fins at once. The dolphin had quickly gone back to the surface to catch another breath of air before returning, cheerfully following after her new friends and making inquisitive noises at certain things that she came across. She would've never seen what the interior of this ship was like before it sank. Everything was foreign to her.

Everything was also upside-down, just like the exterior. The floors were now their ceilings and vice-versa. Some of the furnishings had been secured in place, while the rest were broken - either from when the ship sunk or deteriorating over time - and their pieces were heaped up or scattered. The most intact surfaces Link could see were metal, rusting as it was. There was barely any wood, for both the water and the worms burrowing through the material had already eaten much of it away.

If he hadn't seen the exterior of the ship, just looking down these corridors and counting off the rooms were enough to give him an idea of how huge this vessel was. Just how many people had it been designed to carry?
