Doctor Eggman
© Jessica // CURRENTLY Offline

This conversation had been an enlightening one for the doctor. He had learned some information that he was going to be able to put to good use. There was very little information in the world that Eggman couldn't somehow work to his advantage, and he knew this was something that was relevant to him. He was going to have to find this robot serial killer and quickly. And, make sure that they weren't doing anything of the sort ever again.

"The evening is getting late," Eggman said, glancing at the time on his dashboard. It hadn't passed midnight yet, but it was getting close to there. And, Eggman was an old man. He wasn't the one who stayed up hours into the night for silly reasons.

The doctor needed his beauty sleep.

"Will you be remaining here long?" Eggman asked. He wondered how long Durnehviir would be in the area, and how long it would be until they saw each other again. Eggman didn't like a whole lot of people, but he was fond of Durnehviir, in a way. It was more pleasant to have conversations with him than it was with most people.

Durnehviir
© Jen // CURRENTLY Offline

It was indeed getting late, at least by the standards of mortals. Dragons were awake and active day and night, as long as it was beneficial to them. They slept whenever they felt like it. Time had no restraint for those who rode its currents.

Of course, Durnehviir barely slept. Living creatures, dragons included, benefited from the rest that was brought about by sleep. However, as one who existed on the boundary between life and death, sleep was something he did not require. He rested after flights, yes, but he never felt like he had to drift off into slumber.

"I will remain here to watch the joorre below, blissful in their ignorance. Until either my curiosity is sated, or the new day breaks upon the horizon." Durnehviir had to leave before it got too light out. No longer would he be hidden by the darkness of the night, and the populace of this city would treat him as the monster he was. He planned to be gone before they became aware of his presence.

The evening was dwelling on, and Eggman knew he needed rest. Sure, he was better than most of his human compatriots and superior to them in basically ever possible way, but he was still human. And, he was getting up there in years - not that he was going to openly admit that to anyone at all. He would never admit it. It was why he didn't tell people how old he was. No one needed to know.

That being said, he still needed sleep, and if he wanted to get some work done in the morning - there was always work to be done - then he needed to return to his airship and get some shut-eye. He hadn't gone into the city very far like he had initially planned, but he had still learned some useful information that could be beneficial to him.

That was all he needed. He was going to bed now.

"Until we next meet again, then," Eggman said, giving Durnehviir a salute. There was no other departing words that needed to be said, as far as Eggman was concerned. He was sure he would run into Durnehviir again. The undead dragon was hard to miss.

With that, he took his Eggmobile off into the air and away.

Durnehviir

So the doctor was leaving now. It made sense. Many of Durnehviir's fellow dragons would be insulted at the idea of a mortal cutting their talk short and leaving, just like that. He did not see why it mattered, in this case. It was late at night. The doctor likely had work in the morning and needed sleep. To get that sleep, he needed to return home.

For Durnehviir, this entire planet was his home. Provided that he did not offend anyone - and he often killed those who got offended by him, anyway - he was free to fly to anywhere. This world was much better than the Soul Cairn, and he planned to enjoy every breath of fresh air that he was allowed to take.

"Farewell, doctor." With that, Durnehviir returned his gaze to the sights below, the streets and buildings glowing with the lives of countless people. His remaining time here was limited, and he planned to use it well until he took to the skies once again.
