Holland took another look around the place they were standing. There was a rock formation that was barely taller than him and there were some levels on the rock. One was just the right size for someone of his height to use as a seat. Holland went over to it, brushed any excess dirt off of it and sat down. If he did manage to get any on his pants, he could simply brush it off. That was all he really needed to do. He wasn't one of those weirdos who freaked out over a little bit of dirt.

Besides, he had a group of kids at home; they had a habit of tracking dirt in, even when they didn't mean to. He didn't mind. It wasn't like the airship was a pigsty. As a group, they kept the Axolotl pretty clean and that was all he could ask for.

"Same," he said with a nod of agreement. "I'm sure you figured it out, but I'm more likely to be flying up than climbing up." He could climb up, but he normally didn't have the time to go mountain climbing. There was a lot for him to do. And, he much preferred lifting than climbing anyways. Lifting was something special to him.

As he gazed out to the ocean that he could see beyond the mountain peaks, he commented, "I should have brought a snack."

Aden

"Well, yeah." Aden figured that Holland was a guy who liked being in the air. "You can see a lot of things from up there that other people can't." It was kind of like standing on top of Ymir, but Aden was limited to both the Plant Golem's height and where they happened to be. If he wanted to get the same kind of freedom Holland had, he had to take Klefbom out for a ride.

Which he realized he did a lot of. There were places that Klefbom could go where Ymir couldn't. And sometimes, having a higher vantage point that moved around freely really helped when exploring a new place.

They were viewing the awesome landscape below them - formidable peaks and blue ocean beyond - when Holland said something about snacks. Aden dug into the pockets of his coat and withdrew a small plastic bag containing cookies. "Here," he said, tossing it to Holland. "Chocolate chip. Baked 'em this morning." While Aden really enjoyed creating all kinds of stuff, cooking was one of the best things he was able to learn. Eating out was nice, but there was something fun about cooking at home and being able to eat the results.

Tugging off his gloves, he sat down on a nearby rock and pulled out another bag. As Aden opened it, Fleury got closer, so he gave the little sheep a cookie before tossing another to Klefbom, who snatched it from the air with his mouth.

At least one of them thought to bring snacks along.

Aden produced cookies from his pack, which he tossed to Holland. Holland caught them in one hand, looking them over as Aden said they were chocolate chip and he baked them that morning. Briefly, Holland sported a lopsided grin. The last cookie attempt in the Axolotl kitchen had not gone as smoothly as it should have, and the cookies came out a little burnt. Holland still ate them anyways, of course. He tried eating everything that was produced in that kitchen since there was someone attempting to make them for the others.

Sometimes, he just needed something strong to help wash it all down.

"Thanks," he said before opening the bag and pulling a cookie out. He took a small bite at first, but any fear that Aden could possibly not actually bake was washed away. He finished the rest of the cookie off in one bite before finishing out another. "These are good," he said in between chews.

He kept his gaze out on the ocean as he ate. There looked to be a small fleet of ships moving past the island. The flag they flew suggested they were merchants. The fact they weren't stopping meant they probably weren't pirates.

"Glad you like them." It was nice whenever someone else enjoyed his cooking. Calcifer got to do that pretty much everyday, unless either he or Aden was out somewhere. But with Ymir, it was pretty easy to get back home, so Aden barely missed his chances to cook for the day. The magical door at the back of the golem's head was linked directly with an identical one in the house. Home was never too far away.

Pulling out a cookie, he bit into it. Yep, good thing he thought to bake this morning before he took off. These were the perfect snack to eat up here.

Aden watched the ocean, taking note of the fleet of ships. He often saw them whenever he was out with Ymir, although most ships kept their distance. Aden could understand why, although that didn't stop one pirate ship from brazenly approaching to attack his golem one day. Their cannonballs didn't do squat and were more of an annoyance than anything. Ymir had stopped that attack in its tracks when he picked up the ship and lifted it over his head, ignoring the screaming crew.

And of course, Aden made them stew a little before letting them go, their ship one gold-filled chest lighter.

It was nice, having a moment like this. Holland thought about how being up above the world like they were made it seem like the planet was standing still for them as they enjoyed the atmosphere around them. Up here, it wasn't too warm, though it still wasn't too cold either, and he didn't feel the sun beating down on him. It made everything comfortable as he watched the distant ships move. This was one of the things he liked about living in this world. He couldn't quite remember how much peace he had throughout his life. His childhood had been a hard one, and he had chosen an equally difficult adulthood. Even in moments where there was peace, he couldn't never known quite when the military would swoop in and try to claim the bounty on him.

And, that wasn't even to mention the problems the Planet had been having. That one was a difficult one to explain to anyone who hadn't been there when the Coralians decided to show themselves to the world.

But, this. This was nice.

Holland finished off the cookies and shoved the plastic baggie into his pocket. He would dispose of it somewhere else, and not on this mountaintop. He wasn't one for littering. He stood up from where he sat, stretching his hands over his head. The older he got, the quicker he got stiff from sitting like this.

"I guess there isn't too much for us to do up here," he commented. Except enjoy it. That was always nice. But, the next thing to do was for them to go down, which he wasn't sure if he was ready for just yet.

Aden

It was an enjoyable moment, quiet and peaceful. Aden was used to having peaceful times - it came with running a farm out in one of the quietest areas on the planet - but there was something about being high up somewhere a lot of people wouldn't go to. Maybe the laguz came up here regularly, but they were just a fraction of the entire population living in this world. And it looked like they didn't leave anything behind on their visits up here.

Neither was Aden going to. Once he had equally shared out the cookies he had between himself, Fleury and Klefbom, he folded up the bag and stuffed it into his pocket. A beautiful place like this didn't deserve littering. No place did and Aden couldn't understand why some people thought that dropping their trash wherever they went was an acceptable thing to do. It was easy enough to hold onto it and throw it into the next trash bin you found. People really boggled the mind sometimes.

"There really isn't, huh?" Picking up his gloves, Aden pulled them on again. Then he stood up and stretched; his friends did the same where they had been sitting. "You ready to head back down?" They could leave at any time, but he wanted to make sure the older guy was ready to go first. If not, they could hang out up here for a few more minutes - he didn't mind. Better to head down once they were sure they were ready.

The trip down a mountain could be just as dangerous as climbing up it.

It was probably time to go down. As much as Holland liked relaxing here, he probably shouldn't leave his LFO sitting out there on the mountain for so long. Who knew if there was going to be an avalanche or something else, as ridiculous as it might have sounded. These mountains could be highly unpredictable and maybe one of them having knocked a pebble loose earlier might just be enough to do it.

Nope, he saw the view from here. It was lovely. It was time to go down.

Besides, it wasn't like he had to go all the way down. Just to his LFO and he was golden.

"Time to go," Holland said with a nod of his head. He headed for the trail, peering down it. "Old men first," he said before he started down it. There was a crooked smile on his face as he said it, seeing as he wasn't all that old, even if he did feel like it sometimes.

At this point, he needed to move backwards as the path was more vertical than horizontal and he needed to use his hands to hold on before he slipped and went tumbling down the mountain. He was going to take his time going down. Better safe than sorry.

"Alright then," replied Aden with a chuckle. Holland wasn't that old, but he was still older than him. And Fleury. Klefbom... well, he wasn't too sure. It was hard to tell with him, and they never discussed the Gold Dragon's age before. It wasn't really anything that was all that important, so Aden had never bothered to ask.

They started making their way down the mountain - Holland first, then Aden with Fleury hopping down onto the ledges he could safely reach. Due to his size, Klefbom had to wait for the others to get a good distance ahead of him before he scaled down the vertical surfaces. If he somehow slipped and he was too close to the others, then he would probably crush them. So he was being careful, just like how they were.

At least they weren't heading down the entire mountain like this. They just needed to reach Holland's LFO; while it shouldn't be that far below them, they still had to work to reach it. Aden figured that since they had achieved their goal of getting to the very top of this mountain, it wouldn't be a dent in anyone's pride if he and Fleury climbed onto Klefbom's back and let him fly them out of here. Trying to reach the bottom of this mountain the same way they had gone up it might take them until after dark.

And he wanted them to be back with Ymir before then.

Holland made his way down carefully until he was able to stand upright again and use more minimal effort in keeping himself upright as he walked down the pathway. He stopped there for a moment, standing with his hands on his hips and his back leaned slightly so he looked about and caught his breath. From this angle, he was already able to see his LFO.

Shouldn't be too long now.

It wasn't too much of a long walk, just like he thought. Holland walked at a steady pace, though not so quick he was likely to topple forward. The ground evened mostly to a gentle slope by the time he reached the ledge on where he left his LFO.

"Now I'm tired," he said with a crooked grin as he climbed up its side to unlock it. He flopped himself down into the seat and immediately turned on the air conditioning, acutely aware of just how sweaty he was. The air conditioning was a blessing. "This is way better," he said with a sigh.

There, they made it with no problems along the way. Aden was starting to feel tired too, but at least he wasn't planning on climbing all the way down. He opted for a short break for him and his two monsters, hanging around and letting the breeze cool them off. It wasn't as effective as air conditioning, but fine all the same.

After a few minutes, he went over to Klefbom and climbed up onto his back. Used to this, the dragon only shifted a little on his feet as he adjusted to the added weight.

"Guess we better go," Aden remarked to Holland as Fleury climbed up to sit in front of him. "Feel like swinging by Ymir before you get out of here for good? See him up close?" Most people were content with just seeing the big guy from afar, but Aden didn't mind people dropping by to get a better look. Oh, and if Holland wanted more cookies, there was still plenty from this morning's batch; he could take some with him.

That cool air was really doing the trick right now. It was lucky that they were up a mountain, though, otherwise Holland would have been way more sweaty than he was now. And, if he was out of shape, that would have been another thing to make the trek harder on him. But the mountain climb they had was just enough. It really was a good thing they weren't going any farther down.

Holland looked up, seeing Aden climb onto his dragon. He had asked if the older man wanted to come see Ymir up close. He hadn't really done that before. It would be kind of sweet to see what the golem looked like when he wasn't flying above its head.

"Sure," he replied, grabbing his buckles and strapping himself in. "You lead the way and I'll follow right behind you." The hatch of his pilot seat swung shut, ready for him to take off at a moment's notice.

Hopefully, Ymir would have amble space for Holland to land his LFO, in case he wanted to look around some.

"Alright then. Klef?" The dragon responded to Aden's request by stepping over to the ledge and leaping off, spreading his wings. Aden held on as they caught the air and Klefbom rose, circling around once to make sure Holland was ready to follow them. Without any further reason to dally, Klefbom then turned towards the ocean and flew down to it, picking up speed as he did.

Fleury made a delighted noise as they went and Aden had to laugh. Standing on top of Ymir while the Plant Golem trudged across the ocean was one thing. Zipping over it and seeing it from a dragon's eye view was another. It was exhilarating to fly through the air like this.

Ymir was already in sight even before they flew over the water; he hadn't moved since Aden had left him there. There wasn't enough space on the landing for Holland to land his LFO, but he could always land it on his shoulders, or Aden could have Ymir hold his arm out or something. The big guy won't mind at all, he was sure.
