There really were a lot of dangerous creatures in this lake. Arystar swallowed, trying to imagine just what might have been lurking in the waters that were only a few feet away. Fortunately, it sounded like the town had everything figured out when it came down to them though. That was reassuring to Arystar. It meant he didn't have to worry too much about them.

As long as he didn't go swimming, anyways. Arystar wasn't much of a swimmer. He didn't think that was going to be an issue for him.

"I don't think that will be a problem," Arystar said with a slight smile. "I avoid swimming if I can." He looked ridiculous when he tried. It wasn't like he couldn't swim, though. He was capable of doing it if he needed to. It just wasn't something he would say he was good at. He wouldn't say he was good at a lot of things.

He pushed away from the boat railing, crossing his arms though it was more for security than because he was cold. The cloak he often wore with his uniform when not in combat fell around him and covered most of his body from sight, so no one would think he was standing in a rude stance, especially with their prince. "Where to next?" he asked Frey.

So Arystar wasn't much for swimming? That was fine; not everyone was able to swim well, and there were people who didn't like swimming at all. As for Freyjadour, Falena was a land of water. Swimming was taught to him early; not only was it a key survival skill, but he also found it enjoyable. This lake might not be ideal for that, but there was a pool deeper within the forest that was perfect for a refreshing dip.

"We'll go into the town next," he replied, stepping over to the side that was closest to it. The Prince pointed down at a cluster of boats. "First, we'll check out where most of the shops are, and then..." Freyjadour moved his finger towards the other side of town. "...we'll head towards the inn. Follow me."

Leaving the upper deck, Freyjadour led the way through the Dahak, arriving at its main deck and exiting the ship. The walk then took them through several boats; he stopped once he was in the area he had first pointed out. A few ships nearby had signs to them, indicating what kind of shops they were. It was still early enough that they hadn't yet closed for the night.

"Here, we have several shops where you can purchase various goods. There's also a blacksmith, as well as a ferry service in case you'd like to leave Raftfleet from the river."

It was time for their tour to continue on. Arystar took one last glance at the water before he followed after Frey. He didn't need to give it any lingering looks; he was going to see it right away anyways. The town was surrounded by water. Even when you were inside most boats, if there was a window or a door, you were going to see some water somehow.

Shops, then the inn. It sounded like a good plan to Arystar. He made sure to be careful where he step. Just like there was water everywhere outside, who knew when one was going to step into a puddle. It wasn't to say that the people of Raftfleet were untidy, but it was an inevitable thing to have - water around your residences when your residences were literally floating on the water. When he was in battle and had a focus, Arystar was a lot less clumsy. Right now though... He would prefer not taking a dip in the water.

Especially after the whole monster talk.

After moving through several boats, Arystar was able to see the different signs of the shops. He was able to identify what most of them meant, but one caught his eye. It was an orb and there wasn't anything else to tell you what they would be selling. Clearly, this had to be a symbol most people who came from the town's homeland would understand, but he didn't.

"What do they sell there?" he asked, looking at Frey.

"Ah, right." While everyone in Falena knew what the orb on the shop sign was for, any new visitors to Raftfleet nowadays likely wouldn't have a clue. "That's our Rune shop. In my world, Runes allow people to use special abilities, such as magic. They have to be equipped by a specialist, which our shopkeeper happens to be."

In this world, there were other things that were called Runes. Freyjadour had a friend who was sensitive to one kind in particular. A word could have many different meanings, depending on which worlds one was looking at. It was just one of those little details about the planet that made living here so interesting.

"How many Runes one can equip depends on the individual. I can wield three, although I only have two at the moment." Together, the two Runes had been more than sufficient in meeting his needs. Unless something major happened that required him to use a third Rune, it would probably stay that way.

"Wow." Runes sounded like something Arystar never really heard of before. He knew of magic, but it was such an odd thought to him that someone could simply equip it, as if it was some physical weapon like a sword or an axe.

Or, maybe it wasn't too weird. After all, in a strange way, that was what his Innocence was. Arystar subconsciously ran his tongue along his teeth. They didn't cut into him, like they would into anything else that dared touch them. It was almost like he was immune to just how dangerous his Innocence really was. He was able to rip even the toughest of flesh apart with them, but he never seemed to bite his own tongue by accidentally while eating.

Which was lucky because he used to do that a lot as a child.

"May we go inside?" he asked. He didn't want to bother them while they were working, but if they didn't mind them being there, he would like to see how the business worked.

"I don't see why not," Freyjadour nodded. The Rune shop was one of the places visitors asked about the most, and he could see why. Often, he would end up bringing people inside so they could see these Runes for themselves. The Prince led the way to the boat and then stepped inside, finding the shopkeeper tending to the shop's wares as usual.

Not quite as usual. Maybe a little on the drowsy side.

"Evenin', Your Highness," the shopkeeper yawned, then perked up after realizing Freyjadour wasn't alone. "Another guest today? At this rate, I bet I can write a book about all the people you bring to me. Happy to help, though - that's what I'm here for!" The shopkeeper chuckled before closing a few boxes of wares, leaving the others open and visible for the Prince and Arystar to see.

Arystar was glad they were able to go in and see the rune shop. It wasn't like anything he was familiar with, and he would really like to see it. It made it easier to go look once he was with Frey as well, as he was normally too nervous to go in and poke at unknown places on his own. It was nice having some accompany them.

When they entered, the shopkeeper greeted them jovially. Arystar wasn't really surprised, seeing at how important Frey seemed to be here. It was almost a little embarrassing, too, though he didn't know why. He was just easily embarrassed by any sort of attention that was given to him. He simply wasn't used to it with the way he was raised.

"Um, yes, I've never seen runes before," Arystar said, approaching the counter almost cautiously. "Frey told me a little about them, but I was wondering how exactly people use them?"

They were equipped, but he didn't understand how. Surely, they couldn't be done the same way that Innocence were. They needed to be some other method.
