Oh? Calcifer was curious about the pancakes. And Wilson as well, from the looks of it. Lucina sipped her drink before speaking again. "Their pancakes are really good. In fact, they're some of the best I've ever tasted." There were other places on the planet that served pancakes, and each cook had their own twist to the basic recipe, but... these ones here, they were a cut above most others.

But would they have to wait until tomorrow morning to try them?

"I suppose it wouldn't hurt to ask," Lucina then added, smiling down at the two. "The worst that could happen is that we would have to wait until morning." And that wasn't much of a wait at all. After they finished their drinks, they could go see if they could find someone. The staff here was pretty nice, so she thought it was possible that they wouldn't mind cooking pancakes, even if it was night.

So there really was a possibility that they would be able to try the pancakes? Calcifer glanced at Wilson, who clearly really wanted to. He was chewing on his straw, as if in anticipation. Calcifer didn't want to make him wait any longer than he had to, then.

Calcifer lifted up his mug, letting his small fire hands grow a little bigger so they were able to hold into the mug even better. He drained the rest of his mug. It didn't burn his throat, of course. Calcifer didn't have a throat, and he couldn't burn anyways. How could one burn a fire? He was sure there was some crazy wizard out there who would have tried to give it a try. He probably made some fire pretty mad, though, and that fire probably retaliated.

That wizard probably ended up burned. Poor wizard.

"We're done," Calcifer announced. He set his mug aside. Wilson didn't look like he wanted to get up, so Calcifer glanced at Lucina. "I don't suppose... you'd mind pulling our wagon, would you?" Wilson was probably also tired from pulling Calcifer around all day, so the fire couldn't blame him.

Lucina had never seen a fire drink hot cocoa before, and she must admit that she was fascinated. Calcifer could drink it without worrying about burning his throat, or whatever he had in place of a throat. And the liquid wasn't enough to put him out. This world was filled with such interesting beings, humans and otherwise. Her world was full of magic, and yet she doubted that she would've witnessed such things if she had remained there.

"I'd be happy to," she smiled when Calcifer asked if she could pull the wagon. Wilson was likely the one who pulled it around all day, and the little sheep did look tired now. Lucina drained her mug and rose from her chair, then picked up the other mugs and placed all three of them at one end of the wagon. "We might as well bring these back while we're at it."

Lucina picked up the wagon's handle and started pulling it out of the room. She was very careful not to walk too fast, and she took her time moving it so it wouldn't bump into any of the furniture. Once they were through the doorway, she walked just a little faster, pulling the wagon behind her.

Calcifer settled down in his lantern as Lucina took the mugs and placed them in the back side of the wagon. Wilson tucked his feet under him and leaned over the side as the wagon started to move. This was a lot different than how he was used to them moving. Normally, he was the one pulling the wagon along. It was a nice change. If Calcifer had been able to walk himself he wouldn't have Wilson pulling him along. It was why he made sure to treat the Wooly when he could; he did so much for him.

They rode along in silence until they reached the kitchen area where staff of the bed and breakfast were busy. It looked like they were preparing a cake. Oh? Was someone having their birthday party here sometime soon? That would be nice. It seemed like a nice place to have a party.

The woman who had brought them the hot cocoa looked up when she saw them. "Oh, hello dears," she said, smiling. She had flour on the front of her apron; she must have helped with the cake. "Is there something else you need?"

Lucina let go of the wagon's handle so she could pick up the mugs. "We're here to return these," she said, handing the mugs over, "but also, I have told my new friends that the pancakes here are delicious. They're interested in trying them, even at this time."

"Really?" The woman smiled down at the two in the wagon. "Well, I don't think I can say no to your adorable friends. Let me finish up what I'm doing here, dears, and I'll make you those pancakes. Go ahead and find yourselves a table."

"Thank you," smiled Lucina as the woman left. She picked up the handle again and started pulling the wagon to the dining area. "It appears that we won't have to wait until morning after all." Wasn't that nice?

Wilson made a noise of pleasure once it was decided that they were going to be able to get pancakes despite the time of day after all. Calcifer let out a low chuckle. It might have sounded like he was simply amused at Wilson's reaction, but he was also pretty excited that they were going to be able to have pancakes. Pancakes were one of his favourite breakfast meals, aside from bacon.

Nothing could really beat bacon.

"Thank you!" Calcifer called after the woman who went to finish her work before getting started on their pancakes. Lucina pulled the wagon over to the table, which Calcifer looked up at. Even though he had drank his hot cocoa from the wagon, he would prefer not to eat staring at everyone's knees - even if the only other everyone around was Lucina.

"Do you mind putting my lantern on the table?" he asked Lucina as Wilson scrambled up onto one of the chairs himself. Standing on his feet, he was able to reach the table.

Oh, yes, it wouldn't do for Calcifer to sit in the wagon while everyone else was at the table. The room with the fireplace was one thing, and this was another. It seemed like Calcifer couldn't move his lantern on his own, or maybe he could, but it took more effort. Lucina picked up the lantern and set it down on the table, at a spot where another person would have sat.

"Are you okay, Wilson?" she then asked the sheep. Lucina had noticed that he had to stand on the chair in order to reach the table. "I can go seek out a cushion or two if you would like to sit down." Or she could just ask the staff for them. That should give him the added height to sit down at the table and reach it, too.

Much of the furnishings in this world were made for humans like her. For everyone else who were of sizes that differed from the human norm - like Wilson, or her Vivillon - trying to do normal things like open doors or sit down in a chair could be tricky. Lucina understood why things were like that, so she liked to help and make situations like this a little bit better for her friends if she was able to.

Calcifer was thankful that Lucina had picked up his lantern like he had asked and placed him on the table. He was able to see everything from his vantage point now. He pushed open his lantern's door and shuffled to the edge like he had been sitting before. He was able to properly reach out now. This would be the most convenient way for him to eat, just like it had been the most convenient way for him to drink his hot cocoa.

Wilson was standing, holding onto the table, when Lucina spoke. He perked up when she suggested she could probably get him cushions or something to sit on so he wouldn't have to stand. He nodded his head vigorously.

"I think he would like you to that," Calcifer said, a soft chuckle in his tone. Wilson looked really cute when he was like that. "If you don't mind."

Calcifer had never been overly fond of humans, but he had to admit it was nice having one around in a world that wasn't built for someone like him, or someone like Wilson. And, he liked Lucina. Only a little though. He didn't like people normally. He was a fire demon. Liking people all of the time was out of the question.

"Very well, then," Lucina nodded. Wilson was just so cute; she didn't think she could stand seeing him stand on the chair when there was such an easy and obvious fix. "I'll return shortly." She left the table in order to find cushions, just as she had said she would. Spotting someone on the staff who was leaving the kitchen, she approached and asked him about it.

A few minutes later, she returned with three soft, yet sturdy cushions in her arms. They might not need all of them, but it was better to have more than what they needed than not.

"Wilson, if you would be so kind to move, I can stack them up for you." One didn't look like it would be enough, so they should start with two. If it was still too low, then they could add the third one. The man from the staff had given Lucina cushions that he thought would work for something like this. They should form a seat that was both sturdy and comfortable.

Lucina was kind enough to go find Wilson some pillows to sit on. They were really lucky to have run into her when they got here. Of course, they wouldn't have been sitting at the tables at all if not for her because Calcifer wouldn't have heard about the pancakes, but that was inconsequential. The pancakes sounded like they were going to be delicious. It was another lucky thing that Lucina had brought them up so they would think of trying them.

While they were gone, Calcifer hummed lightly to himself as he looked around the room. The dining room was quite nice. It had a quaint feeling while still being large enough to accommodate all the guests they were likely to have on a busy day.

When Lucina came back and requested that Wilson hop off, he did so. He stared up at Lucina as she placed the cushions. Now, though, the chair was a little high for him so he held his small paws up at her, wanting to be picked up.

"I think he wants you to put him back," Calcifer commented. It might have not been necessary at that point, but Calcifer had grown used to translating what he thought Wilson was trying to say.

"Oh, all right." Lucina reached down and picked up Wilson. The sheep wasn't heavy, but he felt soft and warm, much like a teddy bear. He was probably very huggable, too, but she refrained from doing so and placed him onto the cushions stacked on the chair. Two cushions were enough to put him at the right level to reach the table.

"It's perfect." Lucina placed the third cushion into the wagon for now. She planned to return it once they were finished with the other two, but she didn't want to leave it on the floor, where it could get dirty. Finally, she took her seat at the table like her two companions. "Do you smell that?"

The noises coming from the kitchen hadn't changed in volume, but there was now a unique smell wafting into the dining room. It could only be pancakes.

Wilson was now in a comfortable spot. He looked quite happy as well. Calcifer was happy for him. It would be a lot easier for him to eat the pancakes then.

Calcifer sniffed the air just as Lucina said. He could smell the pancakes now. And, boy, did they smell delicious. If he was capable of drooling, he might have started right then and there. As it were, if he was able to drool, he hadn't ever noticed it before. That was probably for the best. With all the good food he normally got, he would have been drooling all the time!

The doors to the kitchen opened and the lady from earlier came out. She balanced three plates of pancakes on a sturdy tray, each accompanied by a glass. Calcifer supposed there was water in them, seeing as they had already all had a specialty drink already.

"Here we are," the woman said, cheerfully. She placed the plates of pancakes in front of each of them. "Please enjoy!"

As she left, Calcifer and Wilson dug into their pancakes. Delicious!

The woman arrived at their table with their pancakes and Lucina thanked her as she left. The swordswoman picked up her fork and knife, but she paused to watch Calcifer and Wilson as they dug in. She had never seen a fire eat before, but that wasn't why she was watching. Both of them were just so adorable that she couldn't quite help it!

Smiling, Lucina looked down at her own pancakes and started eating. They were just as delicious as the first time she had them, sitting at another table in this very room with Vivillon and Bad Girl for company. And even though pancakes were normally a breakfast food, she thought that eating them was the perfect way to end this rainy evening.
