Neo Domino City was, as Atem had recently found, a very interesting place. While he could say he was used to living in different time periods and adapting to them, actually knowing people who lived there beforehand added another layer to the whole thing. This city - both the main part of it and Satellite, which was what remained of his own Domino City - was the place Yusei was from. Sometimes, he had wondered what such a place was like. Now he no longer had to wonder.

Although he did have to wonder why that was even possible to begin with. Why this world had been created, and what the Goddess' purpose was in creating it. With no real answers forthcoming, it appeared he would have to wait longer for them, if any answers existed at all.

Since he was stranded here like everyone else, Atem had decided to take everything in stride. Now having a place to call home, it was time to see the other areas that made up this continent. The train - the one single train on the entire planet, if one didn't count city subways - was a common way for people in this world to travel from one place to another, so the spirit decided to start there. While the memories he had of taking a train like this weren't what he would call good, he was willing to give it a shot.

It was going well, too. The train ran smoothly down the track, the scenery beyond his window flying past. Blue sky, green grass and a forest here and there. Sometimes, the train blew past someone traveling on foot, by car or by mount - glimpses of color against the natural backdrop of the Western Continent. They were there, and then they were gone.

So when a trio of vehicles appeared alongside the train, racing it while its passengers whooped and shouted, Atem knew that something was up. His suspicions were confirmed when some of them shot grappling hooks at the train cars, using them to pull themselves up onto them. They did say that villains attacked the train every once in a while. The other people sitting around him started to murmur when they heard footsteps running along the roof of their car. Moments later, there was a loud bang and a scream from the car in front of them.

"What?" Atem stood up. There was a crowd forming at the front end of the car, as the passengers tried to see what was going on. Instead of joining them, he ran to the back door and opened it. The vehicles had moved up so nobody out there saw him, and he hoisted himself up so he could peer over the top of the train. The crooks who had jumped on earlier had used some kind of machine to punch a hole into the car ahead and a couple of them had used it to get inside. Now they were trying to drag someone out.

It didn't matter what their reasons were. They were attacking the train and causing harm to it and its passengers, something Atem couldn't abide by. Readying his Duel Disk, he climbed up onto the roof and quickly made his way over, jumping down into the next space between the cars just before someone glanced his way. They didn't notice him and continued with what they were doing, leaving the Duelist ready to climb up while they were distracted.

Train food was the best!

At least, Xiu thought so at the moment. He had a good wad of money in his pocket, so it was quite easy to get a train ticket, which he thought was a quick and easy way to see what else was in the Western Continent. He could be sitting by the windows, seeing it all go by.

Of course, that wasn't what he was doing. Xiu was in the dining car, eating his fill. Everything he tried so far amazing. He could probably spend all day sitting there, munching away.

That turned out to be a pipe dream, though, as he heard shouts of people attacking the train. Staring longingly at the meal that was being made right now. He was going to try some of that, but it looked like it was never going to be. He pushed his chair and got up. His armor was of Justice. If it was up to him to deal it out, then that was how it was going to be.

"Where are they?" Xiu asked the nearest person. They pointed him in the right direction, saying they were on the roof. Xiu moved himself over to the door, standing in the space between cars. He grabbed the ladder and hauled himself - almost threw himself - onto the roof. Farther down the train, he was able to see them.

"There you are," he said under his breath. The movement didn't bother him as he assessed them. They were really determined to cause havoc, huh? Well, Xiu of the Hardrock was going to be an end to that!

Being sneaky wasn't in his wheelhouse. Instead, he started sprinting towards them, moving quicker than any human had the right to move - being a samurai came in handy when it came down to his speed. They didn't have a chance to react to him slamming his fist into one of their faces. It sent the man flying off the train to the ground below. Ouch, that was going to hurt.

"Sorry!" Xiu called after him. "Not really," he added in a quieter tone. The others were staring at him now, almost bewildered. Well, he made a good first impression.

Atem spotted the man as he went flying off the train and watched as he crashed to the ground, left behind as the train continued onwards. Someone else was up there, and it would be against his pride as both king and Duelist to not take advantage of this opportunity. Taking a card off the top of his deck, he played it, already knowing what it was without having to look at it.

Upon hearing a Monster being summoned, one of the men turned to look, but was immediately blasted off the train by Black Magician Girl. He ended up exactly like the first guy. Another one went to peer over the edge, only for a hand to reach up and grab him by the shirt, pulling him down into the space between the cars.

Moments later, he could be seen on the ground like the others, a look of astonishment on his face. Atem hoisted himself up onto the roof.

"You!" He pointed at the remaining men. "How dare you threaten the safety of this train and its passengers! What gives you the right to drag someone out like that?"

"Are we getting attacked by a couple of brats?" hissed one of them to another, who glanced at him.

"Yeah, but did you see what they just did? We're already down by three!"

A third man dropped the person they were trying to kidnap back into the train, causing them to yelp in surprise. The people on the vehicles that were still racing alongside the train were scrambling to get their weapons ready. Atem took note of them, but kept his focus on the people in front of him - the crooks still present, plus the guy who had knocked the first man off earlier.
